Without words. I don't want to use resentful or, worse, vulgar words, because I don't want to give rise to justified replies. I'll let the photos do the talking. What you see is what we were given, after we had paid to stay in a normal room in a four-star hotel, one of those published online by the hotel on various sites. Instead, as can be seen from the photos, the room, due to the sloping ceiling and the beams, is at least half unusable; those who sleep on the side closest to the bed risk trauma to the skull. I saw that the hotel management often responds to the various negative reviews. I kindly ask that you do not reply to me, as I have seen others do previously, that all the rooms are beautiful, but they may differ slightly from each other (why then do you never publish photos of the rooms obtained from the attics?) or that, if you had If you had known, you would have given us a nicer room (unusable and dangerous rooms should not just be given... and they can't suit anyone!). As someone said, a sensible silence is better than meaningless words. Thanks for everything (so to speak) and certainly never again.

It was a very nice stay. The reception is located in the opposite building. On daily basis, it's not a problem, but if you need assistance or wish to order sth at the bar - it's good to be aware of this - but we had been very clearly advised on this right after the booking. The room was very spacious. We've been provided the tea- and coffee facilities. It was very comfortable! Just one remark - the reception was quite reserved. When we had questions / needed assistance, we didn't really feel welcome. Besides - all was great!

I booked what I thought was the hotel Imlauer but turned out to be an apar**ent block over the road called Nestroy. This was not made clear when I booked and so I only realised when I arrived and was sent over the road with my room card. I suspect this was due to requesting a single room as a solo traveller. I am 65 and reasonably fit, but there was no offer from the reception of any assistance with my case and once in the building I realised that you had to go down three steps to reach the antiquated lift which only goes to the stairwell between each floor, leaving you with 13 steps to negotiate with a suitcase. Then as my room was on the top floor there was yet another step to get up to reach my room. Very small room and extremely stuffy, but it was clean and comfortable enough and the hotel is well located for access to Schwedenplatz Ubahn and trams. As there is no breakfast included and it costs a wopping 22.50 Euros, I had no reason to enter the actual hotel after checking in, so cannot comment on what it is like. Since I was there to meet a friend for the weekend, it was not a big deal to me but for any other solo travellers I would suggest this is not an ideal place to stay as it is pretty isolating and if you are less able it is not that accessible. Others should check before booking which of the two hotels you are booking as it is not at all clear on the website and there are no photos of the Nestroy!!

We stayed 3 nights in this hovel for New Year's Eve. They assigned us a room that would not have been acceptable even if it had been a 2-star hotel. A 16m2 attic with a very small window, uneven flooring covered with worn carpet. The only decent thing was the bathroom, where they never changed the towels. The air conditioner made an unbearable noise and it was impossible to keep it on for more than a few minutes. The reception was located in the hotel opposite, as was the breakfast room and this was communicated to us only after booking with an email in German. It was practically an annex of the Himlauer hotel. When we asked to change rooms because it wasn't what we had booked, they told us, in a very annoyed manner, that the hotel was fully booked so it wouldn't be possible. In fact we checked availability on Booking and they still had rooms available! I'm not used to giving negative reviews because I'm sorry, I prefer to review what I liked, but I felt it was my duty to do this one to prevent others from having this unpleasant experience.

We stayed agross the street at the Nestroy hotel. The room was big but has not been renovated since the 90s we think. Emty minibar, missing light. The Nightduty service was terrible when we came midnight. The stay was much to exoensive considered to the standard of the Nestroy Hotel. If we have paid less the review would have been better.

We have just returned from a magical Chris**as in Vienna with friends and family. At the Nestroy Hotel we had a clean, functional room and we quickly got used to it. The area is very quiet, which gave us the opportunity to stroll or (Radezsky) walk directly to the center of town: the walk only takes about 10 to 15 minutes. With friendly and helpful staff we had very few issues. We took an evening flight back and after checking out at 12 noon, we safely left our suitcases at the hotel during the day. There are many small cafes where you can have breakfast along the way, and it is also convenient to take trams and other public transportation. You can go around the back alleys and find beautiful churches and some places to eat.

The Hotel Nestroy has a great location and is not far from the subway. The price was OK. The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Carpets that have not been vacuumed are a NO GO! The hotel is very old and the hallway and rooms have an unpleasant smell (old, smoky and not aired).
