Holiday Inn Express & Suites VA Beach Oceanfront Reviews

Right front of the beach. You open the door of the lobby then you are at the beach. Every room has ocean view and it's the best thing to recommend.

The hotel is in a great location, with convenient parking and unbeatable sea views. The living room and bedroom of the suite are separated, which is convenient for enjoying the sea view and resting. You can sit in the living room to watch the sea, or go to the balcony to see the wider sea. It is worth mentioning that the balcony window is very soundproof. The breakfast is also very good. If the air conditioner is a little quieter and the wireless network is better, it will be perfect.

Check in was 4pm. We didn't get a room until 5pm & that was only because after waiting that hour, I went up and asked what was being comped considering we had just driven 12 hours with 3 kids. They finally got us in a room after that. The reason given to us for the delay was for "extra cleaning" however there was hair all over the shower & bathroom. When house keeping came halfway thru the trip, that still was not cleaned up and they left us with no toilet paper. The breakfast buffet was also not great. Didn't matter what time we got there, they were out of most things. But it's free so whatever. The location of the hotel is great, the beds were comfy. That's about all I can say about it.

The tvs are not smart tvs. There was construction happening everyday, very loud. Not dirty but not clean. Just ok. Breakfast not good but free. The cinnamon rolls are great the rest is yucky. The pool was gross but kids don’t mind. Stairways filthy and one cockroach found in our room. That is to be expected in the south but still unnerving.

Great location. Wonderful, wonderful staff! Room was nice. Definitely will consider stopping by again.

Very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Best breakfast I ever had in a Hotel. Room was excellent and views from the balcony were amazing.

we were pleasantly surprised with how nice the accommodations were for our weekend getaway. We've stayed in several different VA beach ocean front hotels and all have been less than impressive. The cleanliness and updates here were top notch.

The pool was way smaller than expected. The breakfast was pretty decent but you may have to wait in line for it. The bed wasn’t really comfortable and I woke up with my neck hurting and the air conditioning was difficult to get to a pleasant degree. The toilet didn’t really work properly but it still was a pretty decent hotel. They didn’t allow late check out and didn’t any extra towels and wash cloths but apparently it was a employee issue on why they couldn’t

Start was very friendly and the hotel was very clean and accommodating!

After a day out, I arrived back to the hotel around 11 pm. There were no parking spaces available in the lot. There were also a few cars in the lot that did not have guest tags. When I went to the desk to inquire, I was told I had to go about two blocks away to a lot to park my car and walk back. I am a woman, ‘of a certain age’ and was traveling solo. I expressed that I was not comfortable doing that. I also shared that there appeared to be non-guests taking up some spots. The man at the desk simply repeated that I should go park in the other lot and walk back. In regards to the alleged non-guests, he just said “I guess we’ll have to check that out”. When I again said that I was not comfortable walking alone down a dark street at that hour, he just told me again that I had to go to the other lot. Thankfully, a young lady behind the desk heard our conversation and volunteered to go to the lot and walk back with me. I think that asking an older, female, solo traveler to walk down a dark street at 11pm by herself is unacceptable. I paid enough for my stay to expect that I would have a parking space in the lot.

Went for a birthday celebration an last minute booked this hotel. Much to our suprise it was close to alot of places to eat an within walking distance. Loved how it was right on the beach. Nothing is like waking up to the sunrise on the beach!!!

Overall services average. Hotel is very nice and clean room very small. It is in the 30s outside. And they had the hallways AC on. Temperatures was reading 64 in the hallway. When I asked the night front desk clerk to turn the heat on, he told me he can do anything about it, it is management. In the morning going on the pool room was absolutely free. A game when I asked the daytime clerk, she called me it is on auto. That was a lie. Thermostat clearly read AC on. Slide on the side was not on heat. The fact that they lie really bothered me. It tells me how much they don't care about their guests.
