The volcano park is too big and it takes at least two days to visit it, so we chose to stay in this hotel nearby so that we can visit the volcano park carefully. Our brief stay at the Kilauea Lodge was wonderful. Not only did we welcomed with friendly service to include all the things you can do at the lodge. But our first night was exciting due to earthquakes that opened up fissures a couple of miles away the late evening. Breathtaking to say. My recommendation is visit at least one time to see what "Old Hawaii" was all about.

Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant is a delightful place to stay near Volcano Nat’l Park. Staff and lodging are above that which might be expected. We would be very happy to stay here on our next visit.

Very nice place to stay, the food in the restaurant was good, except for the birdsong which was a bit noisy at night.

Great place to stay and they think of all of the in-room essentials. Nature trail on property was nice first thing in the morning before heading to breakfast. Breakfast started a bit late for us (9am) but we enjoyed the trail while we waited. Sound does carry in each building but we didn't have an issue with it as most people were probably as tired as we were after a full day of hiking. Staff and property were excellent and we greatly enjoyed our stay. We’ll definitely stay again!
