"It's remote and a bit hard to find at night, so it's best to arrive before dark. There's no reception staff. It's very natural; you can hear insects and birds chirping. The facilities are a bit old, but it's close to the volcano park."

"The hotel is a jungle hotel, the small environment is better, the birds and flowers are fragrant. The hotel's service is fully self-service, basically no host, so you need to solve it yourself. Check in at 3 o'clock, check out at 11 o'clock, you need to strictly abide by the time. It is very convenient to go to the Volcano Park, about 5 minutes drive into the park."

"I’ve stayed at Volcano Acres Ranch on three separate occasions (friends trip, couples trip and family trip) and each visit has been wonderful. Theresa ensures we have everything we need to be comfortable. Breakfasts with egg sandwich, waffles or omelet with a papaya bowl are delicious. Chickens, ducks, goats, pig and donkey out back are so fun especially for kids! And staying 10 mins outside Volcanoes NP was a huge plus for checking out Kīlauea at night and beating the crowds in the morning. Thank you for another great stay."

"This is a place for those who like to slowly appreciate the volcano and nature. You can hike to the volcano during the day and encounter Comet Astra at night. You can cook for yourself, but you need to buy enough water in Hilo. Water is more expensive than oil at the surrounding gas stations. It is very quiet. It is very nice when there are not many people staying, with birds singing and flowers blooming. I stayed for a week. The room was 112 years old and the maintenance was average."
