Came here for a business course. Staff was friendly in the meeting area and food was wonderful. However staff in the lobby bar was less friendly - noted how they gave complimentary cookies for Caucasian customers who got coffee but not for Asian customers who made the same purchase.

Service rubbish. Wasn't greeted upon arrival on check in. Book breakfast with my room and got told that it wasn't there. Had to contact trip.com several times even tho it wasn't a fault on their part. Trip.com had tried to call the hotel several times and send emailes over the course of three hours to which the miserable woman on reception hadn't responded to. Eventually when I went to reception she originally refused to speak to trip.com as I had them on the phone. The attitude I was met with stunk. Her response was well you didn't book it direct through marriot bonvoy so it's not my problem. Them had issues with the ac, was constantly blowing out hot air even on 15 degrees. Got told there wasn't any fans in the hotel apparently! Eventually moved rooms at 1.20am which was unnecessary and could be avoided if the air conditioning had been checked prior to arrival... seems like the room I was in wasn't the only one with issues clearly. Overall not a nice stay and not worth the money with the issues encountered

Quiet and cosy place. Rooms very traditional. Breakfast is acceptable. Jogging machine at the gym strangely facing a opaque wall. Not really a convenient place, unless you are driving.
The first night we checked in, the receptionist said there was no double bed (deluxe king room we booked and prepaid) and gave us twin beds. Then the solo traveller who checked in after us got a deluxe king room. Apalling.
All other staff are friendly and cheerful.

Nice hotel for an overnight stay. Very hot weather and our only issue was the room was far too hot, even with a fan on and the air-con full blast. We reported it because I don’t think the air conditioning was working. Apart from that, all ok.

This is a really lovely hotel with very good amenities. My only moan was that the car park is strictly pay no exceptions £4 to park your car at a hotel where you are staying seems a bit wrong.
Although it wouldn’t necessarily put us off going again there are alternative hotels in the area that have free parking for guests.

The room size is okay but the air conditioner is too noisy, which affects your rest a bit. The breakfast was not bad, not to mention rich. There were many people drinking in the lobby bar at night. The parking lot in front of the hotel was very large. There was a very good local British restaurant about 15 minutes' walk around. The steak pie was very delicious. There was one about 15 minutes' walk behind the hotel. The takeaway fish and chips is pretty good, a portion of fish and chips seems to be about 12 pounds, which is quite large.

Be warned. Wed driven nearly 4 hours to get the hotel for a festival, it was pouring in rain and we were very late. We rang the hotel multiple times explaining our situation and requested an earlier check in. When we got there it was a mad rush for us so we quickly checked in and off we went to our festival. 4 weeks later, £100 carpark fine. The hotel didn’t even mention a single thing to us about the carpark having charges. We assumed it was free on that basis. Never assume. We absolutely loved our stay and now we wouldn’t go back or recommend it.

Therefore the only way to guarantee an early arrival would be by booking the room in advance the day prior to the arrival. Parking is charged and that is clearly mentioned on our website and other booking platforms, further more the car park it self has 22 signages explaining parking terms and condition, these signages are on the entrance, exist and the main parking area in order to insure that are not missed. Lovely place to stay outside the bustle of London. The bar/foyer has excellent ambience & meals. Free parking & early check in for guests if you sign up to be a member. I especially wanted to leave a review for anyone with food allergies, they took the utmost care and consideration in making sure the food was safe for me. Let me tell you that is rare! Large nicely furnished rooms, often with garden views. Unfortunately I was told there's no lift to upstairs rooms...? Hard climb with a large suitcase when you're jet-lagged. Otherwise I'd give 5 stars.

We stayed at this hotel at the end of June with our very young family. We were in the area for a birthday and had booked many times with the Marriott brand. Unfortunately, we had an absolutely awful stay and very little has been done to compensate us for this. The weather on the day was in the region of 22/23 degrees but inside the hotel itself it was hitting 27/28 degrees with no working air conditioning. It was hot and stuffy with only two working fans provided having asked for more at reception. No alternative room was available for us but according to the reception staff, the air conditioning was not working in any of the room despite it being advertisement as air conditioned. Our youngest who was only 6 months at the time could barely sleep due to the heat and had to sleep in solely a nappy. Within 5 minutes of entering the room, my 2 year old son stepped on a sharp pin that had been left on the carpet. The reception staff were apologetic and helpful but the management have been appalling. We have been offered a small percentage refund but when asking to speak with higher management on the phone to discuss matters further, they have simply declined and said that it is unnecessary. I am very disappointed with the Marriott and in particular, George King, who has been unhelpful and rude. If you’re looking for a comfortable stay, please avoid this establishment!

stayed at this hotel on 21at of August. ordered some dinner and food poisoning. the food was clearly microwaved and frankly not vey nice. I woke up serval times during the night being sick. the hotel also doesn't listen or meet requirements. I requested firm pillows on both Bonvoy app. request ignored. room air con doesn't work at all. the hotel it is a soulless environment. theres a total lack of plug sockets and usb ports in the room. the rooms most certainly have not be renovated there tired and old fashioned. very very poor for the money paid. it was full of workman in his vis yellow work uniforms from British gar or somewhere. it felt like a low star hotel that caters to workman and builders. really very very poor. clearly Marriot have renamed there hotels to Delta hotels as there not a 4 star hotel its a best 2-3 star hotel. they need to do something about the dreadful food they serve as its not fresh foods and sounds like they buy pre cooked job lot food to reheat which gave food poisoning.
