Crosswinds Inn

Is this really a 5 star place? Probably not when compared to the best places I have stayed, but for West Yellowstone and the price I paid for accommodations, it felt that way. The room was similar to a good Best Western and the breakfast was good enough, though I had to punt on the eggs as they had cheese on them. The owner was friendly and the lobby had a nice sitting area with some excellent reading material. My goal was a good night's sleep and something for breakfast at a reasonable price and that is what I got. I would do it again.

I can't believe this delightful motel is currently ranked #33 on TripAdvisor. I booked a room here based on the glowing reviews and it did not disappoint. We arrived in town earlier than we expected and Jackie at the front desk was so nice. Even though we couldn't get into the room yet, she basically checked us in so that all we had to do was grab our room key when we came back that evening after exploring Yellowstone. In fact, she called us on our way to the park and said that our room was ready if we had time to turn around. It was so sweet of her. The room itself was so clean and comfortable. Breakfast was also better than I expected. Thanks for a great stay!

I chose Crosswinds because it had good reviews. The room was clean. The inn had be remodeled recently you could tell from inside. Bed was comfortable.. Breakfast was really good. Staff super nice. I highly recommend Crosswinds Inn.

Room was clean and well appointed. The breakfast was better than most. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Would recommend. Had to leave early due to a health condition and the lady running the desk was so very nice and refunded one night that I couldn’t stay. Unexpected and very nice!

Couple in our early 30s from Australia. Booked a last minute 1 night stay after a long day of exploring Yellowstone NP. Front receptionist wasn’t the friendliest. Room was older but very clean, including the bathroom. Great breakfast in the morning & the kitchen/cleaning staff were fantastic. Fairly pricey for what it is but we booked day off. Be try close to the bars & restaurants - great BBQ basically across the road. Would stay again for a night or 2.

Positives: The location is great. Easy to walk to almost anything in town. Very close to our favorite eateries, The Three Bears (breakfast) and the Firehole BBQ (dinner). Also near the Book Peddler (best coffee in town). It is also close to the entrance to Yellowstone, though most of the hotels are. There was coffee (albeit pretty mediocre) always available in the lobby. So if you are getting up early to go into the park, there is something hot available for you. They rent bear spray. This is an advantage if you're hiking because it is expensive to buy, you probably will never use it and you can't take it with you on the plane. The room was pretty large and there was a really good amount of counter space in the bathroom. Nice small microwave and refrigerator. Ample towels and a good air conditioner unit (though it is loud). Negatives: Uncomfortable bed: The bed was WAY too soft and sunk a bit in the middle. It felt like a bed that was once nice but needs replacing. The pillows were lumpy and of strange sizes. Some very small and only 1 or 2 of a normal size. Housekeeping issues: The linens were not freshened daily on the bed, which is a real problem for me. Likewise, sometimes the bed was made but half the pillows left somewhere else in the room, such as on a chair, rather than put back on the bed. There is no fan in the bathroom! Ugh. Really low quality toiletries. The dryer overheats and shuts off after about 2 minutes. No table for bringing food home and eating and a really large, unnecessary, easy chair and ottoman.
