Excellent rooms and staff, great game rides with unbelievable close encounters with wildlife in their natural habitats! Our ranger, Mr. Abel, was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the place and was extremely generous in sharing his insights - he had a fantastic ability to spot animals and carefully navigate us to spots from where we could enjoy wonderful viewing experiences - the team of rangers at Shamwari are constantly in touch with each other over sat phones and share unique sightings with each other which significantly improves the possibility of some great sightings for the guests. The Shamwari reserve is also putting in a commendable effort in wildlife conservation through their Born Free and Wildlife Rehab Centre initiatives. As Indian vegetarians, the food options were a bit limited, however the chef did try to accommodate our needs. They could do with a few more variety in the cuisine - e.g. rice dishes, Mediterranean etc.

What a treat it was and every single member of staff at Long Lee Manor was wonderful and welcoming and so friendly. The accessible room was superb and the accessibility of the whole place was outstanding (I'm quadriplegic). Long Lee Manor is beautiful and the height of luxury. The rim pool overlooking the waterhole and the plains beyond is just gorgeous, the rooms are huge, with everything your heart desires and more. The food was superb. Most importantly, Mino, our guide was amazing and the array of game we saw was just flabbergasting, a true five star safari experience. Superb.

Not many luxury game reserves accommodate children/ families - Long Lee and the Shamwari group have got it all figured out. Excellent childcare/ kids entertainment options are available and those that go on game drives and very well looked after. Patrick, our ranger was so great with our kid on the drives. The game drives are just spectacular - the dramatic and varied scenery of the beautiful Eastern Cape is perfectly showcased and the spectrum of animals is bewildering. Patrick was excellent at deciphering the symphony of sounds we were constantly surrounded by on the drives - never a dull moment. All the staff, from the hosts to the waiters were outstanding. The food is probably the best we've had in any game reserve - the evening braai in the outside dining area was phenomenal. We will certainly be back at Long Lee or perhaps one of the others - Riverdene which wasn't open at the time, looks particularly brilliant for kids - already looking forward to it.

My wife and I had a fabulous stay at Long Lea Manor within the Shamwari Game Reserve. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were treated like royalty. Our guide Jack was also exceptional. If you are thinking about a visit, don’t hesitate, just book.

This was our first trip to Long Lee Manor and our experience was fantastic. The staff are really wonderful and make you feel right at home from the start. Our garden-facing room was delightful and was more like a suite than a room. It was beautifully decorated and we have everything we needed. Abel, our Ranger, was very experienced and was able to show us wonderful animals over our three days: cheetah, buffalo, white black rhino, elephant, and lion amongst other animals. We even saw three lionesses hunting. The food is very very good, and the wine selection and drinks were plentiful. We would love to visit again in the future. Worth every penny!

Absolutely amazing, our second visit. Wonderful staff, fabulous place and the game drives are fantastic. Our ranger Celedje (sorry if its spelt wrong!) was incredible. She went above and beyond to find the animals for us. Her knowledge and experience was wonderful. A massive thank you to each and every one of you, I cannot recommend Long Lee and the wonderful staff highly enough. Try it, you will not want to leave, can't wait to return ❤️

The Long Lee Manor at Swamwari Game Reserve is a very special place. It is luxurious, well appointed, and the service is impeccable. This was part two of our first safari experience. We were amazed at the size of this reserve. As soon as you enter, there are wonderful animals to admire. The rooms are air conditioned, huge, and well-appointed. Each looks out on the reserve. The food is also excellent and plentiful. A couple of times we didn’t get exactly what was ordered but we just went with it rather than being perceived as demanding. Here we saw giraffes, lions, rhino, water buffalo, hippo, and many more. The guides were terrific. They were friendly, fun, and made every effort to find the animals we hoped to see. We were blown away by the majestic giraffes. On our first drive, we admired four lionesses relaxing near the road. We watched in amazement for some time. The guides were knowledgeable and educated us on each animal, the birds, and even the plants and trees. Our hearts were touched by the Born Free Big Cat Sanctuary. They rescue and care for animals that have been held in captivity. It was a moving experience. I highly recommend this

What a stunning experience- the reserve is huge and the level of quality and detail in the accommodation is some of the best we have ever experienced. The food and service is 6 star - just amazing. The infinity pool overlooking the watering hole is incredible. We had Simone as our ranger for 6 four hour game drives. The knowledge she posses is amazing and my children and myself learnt so much - not only about the animals but also plants and insects. To anyone thinking of booking to visit - do it. You will not regret it - I only wish we could have stayed longer.
