"The overall welcome and hospitality the staff demonstrate, cannot be faulted in any way whatsoever - the entire team goes above and beyond to ensure you feel both very welcome and well cared for. However the buildings, the pool area and the rooms are extremely shabby and in need of significant maintenance and upkeep. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable , but the room is both shabby and tired , and the bathroom is in desperate need of a refresh. The food and the dining experience was excellent! The food was of a very high standard, as was the service - we had outstanding service from Moses and Ntombi. The pool is, in our opinion, unusable, which was disappointing for us in 34deg heat. We swam the first day, believing it just needed a paint, but it had slimy algae on the bottom of the pool and steps. We didn’t use it again. The guide,Roland was absolutely brilliant! Very knowledgeable and professional. What made our stay so enjoyable was the interaction with the staff but the standard of the accommodation needs considerable work."

"The accommodation - the lodge itself is beautiful. However the food which by the way is R300 per person was ridiculous. There was no effort from the host; let's not even talk about the type of cooldrink served for supper and breakfast. As a 4-star holiday place, you should at least provide a variety of fizzy drinks and juice for guests. I think that was just classing people. The breakfast was the only highlight."

"The lodge is located in a citrus farm. It has a wonderful garden, good for some bird watching. I stayed in a standalone cottage 'Valencia 6' which was close to the pool. The cottage included a walk-in shower, safe, hairdryer, coffee/tea facility and a fridge. It also had a little patio. I found the surroundings super relaxing and walked around the citrus farm a few times. They serve a 3 course meal in the restaurant. The food is amazing, I definitely recommend dining there. I loved the tranquility of the place and would definitely come back here."

"The staff were lovely, the food was good and the room was pleasant. However, the lack of privacy with the toilet was a big issue for me. There is no privacy from your partner at all - I don't mind that for a wee, but a number two is a step too far for me! The toilet is in the bathroom and the bathroom is open air to the bedroom, with just a blind between, which you need open for daylight really. No noise or smell barrier available at all!"

"We were visiting for a family wedding and this place was very convenient for that. A lovely old farmhouse, with some converted outbuildings for 2 cottages. Very comfortable, and great breakfasts which you can order prior to travel if you like. Brendan was a fantastic host, very responsive and easy to get along with, as were the staff who did the daily cleans. You can do walks and hikes on the property, or just enjoy the peace and quiet. Highly recommended."

Beautiful views with plenty of seating area around the pool and tubs. The room may have been a bit small, but that was expected as per the description and we had everything we needed, including a stocked minibar fridge. What more does one actually need??? Thank you!"
