I used the lodge as a quiet haven and entry point to the Baviaanskloof. Dinner was wonderful and the lodge nice and quiet - exactly what I was looking for. I must mention that the desert was malva pudding and custard - home made and wonderfully good.

We enjoyed a tranquil stay at Baviaanskloof Lodge on the East side of the Baviaanskloof. The lounge area has an honesty bar which was a delight. The lounge has aircon, the rooms don't and can get a bit warm on a hot day. Also, the rooms don't have patio's and there's unfortunately not one shady spot in the garden to sit or lounge. There's a picnic table, but it was in full sunshine until sundown, so way to hot to sit at! We therefore had to sit inside during the day which was such a pity considering the beautiful garden and the mountain views. Dinner is also served inside. We were lucky to be the only guests (4 of us) so we had the place to ourselves. The South African dishes that were served (buffet-style) were delicious! Breakfast was marginal (cereal, milk, little yoghurt and scrambled eggs with bacon), but overall OK. The rooms were homely with nice touches. All was very clean and the beds were comfortable!

We were camping and ended up extending our stay as the first day rained and we didn't get a chance to explore. I am so glad that we did as we went on some beautiful walks , up to rock pools. Very special place

At Baviaanskloof Lodge - Country House you will connect with nature animal most important with your body mind and soul physically and spiritually and @ the end of this journey you will have found peace peace of body mind and soul ..a must to those who seek to be free from life stresses ..you will know how to relax after just a weekend.

We loved it there Just us very basic theres a toilet and cold water shower gratefull to could camp there Camped no 2 next to stream All campsites nice beautiful walk ferns mountain stream trees birdlovers paradise
