The hotel is advertised as 4 star. But it is antiquated, poorly maintained, and worn.
The staff are lovely, but the rooms are outdated, there is noise transferance, our sink was cracked… and only one bath towel was provided for two guests!
Breakfast coffee was via sachet- a custom which died 20 years ago.
Breakfast fruit was all from a tin.
Toast selection consisted of white or brown basic bread.
Selection of foods highly limited for a good hotel.
This hotel survives by booking coach tours. It will not attract repeats.

Once a grandiose hotel, now showing its age. Carpets everywhere, no telephone in the room, access to the room via numerous stairs. Harry Potter atmosphere. Room cards often do not work, so back and forth to reception. The ladies at the reception are neutral with ten

Located in Buxton, it is an old building with many years of history. There is a large lawn in front of the door and a tall and impressive atrium. Breakfast was also good. Enter your car license plate number to park for free. The room is small but the corridor is quite spacious which is a bit wasted.

Hotel is in a lovely spot within walking distance to everything you need. However, the rooms are in need of major refurbishment and we’re poor! The spa facility you have to pay extra for and then told that the steam room was out of order, the ladies changing room was closed and there was no towels as they hadn’t had a delivery. The pool is definitely not heated and was freezing. Wouldn’t stay again for the price.
