All round good experience, we will return to this hotel. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Located just by a park and ride so other locations are a short bus journey

Great location very close to the Whitby Park & Ride. Nice bar and good, quiet rooms. Dinner and breakfast were both good

Happy and helpful staff, very clean and tidy accommodation and hotel that is 5 minutes walk from the park and ride that takes you directly into Whitby which avoids trying to get parked in the town centre. the hotel is set with lovely views of surrounding countryside. We Will be visiting again.

Room 15 was very noisy with traffic passing on main road from about 0530 even the room vibrated on the odd time I did tell reception on our departure just spoilt an otherwise very good 2 day break

The room was lovely but the service was terrible. No communication about a wait in food. Waited over an hour for starters and another hour for mains. No one came to clear plates so they were still there when the mains arrived. We ordered a steak medium which came well done. No staff member came to ask how things were and we couldn’t find anyone to send it back. We ate our mains at 8pm and by 10pm the plates were still in of us. Staff members were sat enjoying the band and sat outside with a drink whilst the everywhere was still a mess. We didn’t stay for breakfast due to evening being so bad. When you’re paying £25 a main and £11 a starter you expect better than that. Room was lovely but near a main road so lots of traffic noise, bed wasn’t very comfy and neither were the pillows.

The hotel in beautiful location, however couple things.. No table service, only 1 person at bar on a busy Saturday night, menu very limited for gluten intolerance, the room itself is a safety concerns there is only 1 door for access n if a fire broke out near that door no way out no windows..unnerving.

Excellent highly recommend, room, food, service and location. Couldn’t fault a thing. I will be back

There was no separation for diners and dogs in the restaurant which we felt should have been the case.

We stayed at The Stables for 2 nights at the beginning of May and it is a nice hotel with a lovely garden, but we were misled a little as when we booked we were told that it was within easy walking distance of Whitby town centre, but when we arrived the staff told us that it was actually a 40 minute walk. Thankfully though the Park and Ride was opposite the hotel. Unfortunately though because it was on a main road, it was quite noisy. The staff were lovely and we ate in the restaurant both nights that we were there as the food was excellent, and also because the town is a car/taxi ride away. The breakfast was reasonable with the guests having to order the cooked part from the bar (we were not told this, so we had to ask), but it was also chaotic. The restaurant is quite large and is in several rooms, so the coffee/tea was in one room, the cereals/toast were in another room and the bar was elsewhere for the cooked food, then the guests sat in other rooms. Trays would be an excellent addition for the guests to carry their cereals, toast and drinks to their tables. Breakfast service was probably understaffed by 2 people.
