I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Hideaway at Windermere. I immediately liked the design of the building which used to be a school. My room was spotless and very cosy. The location is perfect for those of us who do not drive. It is very close to the railway station and I was able to visit Grasmere and Keswick using the local bus service - it only cost £2.00 each way! The Hideaway breakfasts are phenomenal with plenty of choice and good table service. The home-made cakes are a delicious, daily treat. I highly recommend The Hideaway and I plan to visit again later this year.

Had a lovely stay at the hideaway. The staff were lovely and friendly. The breakfasts were great. Great location with the centre only a short walk away. Plenty of nice places to eat locally and some great local shops. Would highly recommend.

Lovely B&B a five minute walk from windermere centre Comfortable and cosy room everything you need Breakfast was wonderful and staff are very good didn't have to sit waiting for anything and plenty too choose from Would definitely visit again if in the area

The Hideaway was fantastic from the minute we arrived. From the lovely local welcome from John (and his great walking tips), the home baked cake (best Victoria Sponge we’ve ever tasted) to one of the best breakfasts to set you up for the day. We loved everything about the property, we stayed to celebrate my 21st birthday and everything was perfect from the little treats they left for my birthday to the gorgeous building itself(including the most comfortable bed). It was extremely convenient for walking and short drives to Ambleside, Grasmere and Bowness. The breakfast lived up to the high expectations, it was delicious and the cleanliness was superb and finally the staff were amazing and helped with any questions or little extras we needed.

When we walked in immediately asked if we wanted upgrade. Staff couldnt do enough for you so polite . Breakfast was amazing again service was 1st class. Cannot fault our stay in any way.

I had such a restful and peaceful seven night stay, filled with fantastic breakfasts with everything you could possibly ask for. The room is in great condition, is clean and has all the amenities. I loved walking around the area and then to Bowness-on-Windermere which is about a 30 minute walk from the b'n'b or you can catch a variety of buses from Windermere Train Station, to other towns and lakes in the Lake District.
