Qinghai Hotel

Opted for the old-school Qinghai Hotel for our Xining trip, and it was a really comfortable stay for our family trip. 👍 Definitely lives up to its old five-star reputation; the service was genuinely excellent. Staff proactively opened doors and helped with luggage upon arrival and departure, and luggage storage was very convenient. They were also very considerate towards seniors and children. Attention to detail was impressive, they even provided a children's toothbrush in the room. I stayed on the 19th floor, and the city night view was particularly beautiful. The breakfast spread was extensive, with both Chinese and Western options, ensuring everyone in the family found something they liked. 🥰 The location was also a plus; it was easy to get a taxi right outside, making travel to attractions like Ta'er Monastery hassle-free. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 The room hygiene was top-notch, which made for a reassuring stay.

This hotel is extremely noisy. My room was on the 21st floor, and the gym on the 23rd floor was open from 6 AM to 11 PM. The sound of the gym equipment hitting the floor created huge noise and vibrations, like a sledgehammer hitting a wall during renovations. I informed the hotel about this issue, but they made no response or arrangements. I had to contact Trip.com myself to complain and cancel the last two nights of my stay. This is completely unacceptable for a five-star hotel.

Both the software and hardware are flawless, living up to the hotel's name. The location is great, the rooms are nice, breakfast is good, and the service is excellent. They even gave us three complimentary cups of highland barley yogurt, which was delicious.

As you can see in the picture, the bathroom was unsanitary. The black spots on the shower curtain were unidentified bugs that were sharing my room without paying rent or my consent. The bath towels smelled of smoke. I can only think of two possibilities: either the towels were washed with cigarette butts mixed in, or they weren't changed at all. I'm not sure which thought is more disturbing. When I tried to take a shower at 6:30 AM, there was no hot water for half an hour. I ended up having to take a cold shower.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were very thoughtful and accommodating, arranging our two booked rooms diagonally across from each other on the same floor, which was very convenient for us. The only downside was that the air conditioning in the room was a bit noisy; however, once it was turned off, the room was quite quiet.

This is an older five-star hotel in Xining. I booked a high-floor deluxe twin room, trusting the old reputation of five-star hotels. Upon check-in, they gave us three boxes of specialty Qinghai yogurt. The room wasn't particularly spacious, and the facilities were quite standard, not really feeling up to a five-star rating. The mini-bar fridge was empty, and only tea bags and instant coffee were provided. There was bottled water on a table in the hallway, available to grab anytime, which is good since Xining is quite dry and you need to hydrate. The bathroom was a bit small, with a regular toilet and shower, and the shower pressure was a bit low. The hotel offers a variety of pillows, and the towels and bath towels in the room were very comfortable to use. The standout items at breakfast were the beef noodles and 'zhusheng' noodles.

I stayed on a high floor in a renovated room, which had a modern and elegant design. The sheets, duvet covers, and pillows all felt luxurious. The shower had excellent water pressure, and the bathroom was spotless. The toiletries provided were from Herborist. The biggest surprise was the concierge service for luggage both at check-in and check-out. The only drawback was that in the evenings, many guests were quite drunk, which made using the elevators uncomfortable. The quality of other guests was a bit hard to comment on. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel, and it's a great choice for those who appreciate a refined lifestyle.

The room was very clean and tidy, with complete facilities and enthusiastic service. They even upgraded our room proactively. Parking was convenient, and the soundproofing was exceptionally good. Breakfast was also very rich. We stopped in Xining on our way back from a self-driving trip to Tibet, and because the hotel experience was so great, we specifically extended our stay by two more days. It's highly recommended, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Xining.

Excellent hotel! You can enjoy the night view. The front desk staff were very friendly and attentive. They made sure our reserved rooms were on the same floor and even gave us a free upgrade. The breakfast was plentiful and healthy, and the hotel is close to everything.
