Beach Hotels in Xpu Ha

The hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms are furnished nicely and plenty of space. Juana our housekeeper kept our room immaculate, thank you. Downside to the room was airconditioning didn't go cool enough, room never went below 24 degrees. The staff are excellent and we would like to say a big thank you to the entertainment team Georgina, Paulina, Nicolo, Carlos, Jonny and an extra special thank you to Diego and Regina on the entertainment team who went out of their way to make our holiday extra special (loveld our conversations by the pool everyday). The service at the hotel restuarants and buffet was excellent, however the food wasn't as good as other hotels we have stayed at in this area. Other staff that stood out were Quisabel who was so lovely at breakfast & lunch, Karen, Maria, Amado, Addy, Sylvia, Manuel, Federico, Elias & Jesus. Overall we would return to this hotel but with lower expectations of the food quality and choice, the best food in an evening was at the Grill and Tapas.

Let's start by saying a vacation is what you make it. If you've travelled to other resorts before, you will know that there are certain issues that may come up; difficulty reserving restaurants; towel supply; COVID restrictions, etc. If you go into a vacation with realistic expectations, you will not be disappointed. That being said, this was our 3rd time at the Colonial. We just returned from a fantastic week (April 25 - May 2). The food was wonderful (I didn't have to cook!), the ocean was crystal clear & warm (despite the sea****), the rooms were clean and the grounds were breathtaking. The resort is large, so be prepared to walk through their incredible gardens and walkways. I can not say enough about the beautiful grounds! Never had an issue getting chairs at the beach or pool. You may not find your ideal spot, but there were always some available. And, there will always be ”those people” who reserve spots and don't show up for the entire day. Every resort has them. We did have a hick up with our room smelling of mildew, but we asked to change and our needs were met immediately. Within an hour we were transferred to another room. Most of the staff were incredibly warm and friendly. Those are the ones we tipped well. All in all, we had a wonderful time and a great experience!

Another wonderful visit...love the tents and the overall atmosphere. The tents are extremely comfortable, well appointed and spaced far enough apart to give privacy. The entire property is uniquely designed & quite beautiful. The pool area is very relaxing, and the restaurant serves up some wonderful food. Nice beach just down the road, with beach club amenities. Secluded enough to really give the feel of being away from the population. Can't say enough about the fantastic staff...such great folks, and extremely accommodating. Can't wait to get back...always a pleasure !

Secreto Xpuha is a rustic, natural cabin literally a stone's throw from the waves on beatifull Xpu-Ha beach. If you're looking to immerse yourself in nature with basic necessities provided, there aren't many places like it.The Front Terrace offers a world class view and direct exposure to the turquoise sea and waves crashing on the offshore reef, palm trees swaying in the breeze, truly dreamy. Since the beachfront property in Xpuha is mostly privately owned, there are mostly locally owned beach clubs, houses, and plenty of open space, especially at the north end of the beach where you can find a lot of solitude. There is only one big hotel and it is not that big.There are many beachfront restaurants and the Aranza restaurant next to Secreto has great fresh grilled seafood.
