Truly an amazing experience. It is a traditional ryokan run by lovely people — the owner made us breakfast, offered to drive us to the Snow Monkey Park, and gave us apples and candy for our train ride home. It was the highlight of our trip. It is definitely not for those who need luxury and comfort, but it is cozy, cool, and memorable

A very, very nice stay in an old and authentic ryokan. The onsen bath is really incredibly relaxing and in general the whole accommodation seems really very authentic. The owner of the accommodation even drove me to the nearby monkey park in his car and then gave me an insight into the art of Japanese archery. My best stay in Japan so far

Very authentic Ryokan, with fabulous host.
Slightly "tired" facilities, but this contributed to the impression of authenticity. Had its own small "Onsen" bath with natural hot spring water.
Good food, good service.
The host took us on a fascinating visit to the classic Japanese bush shooting range (located next door to the Ryokan.

A quiet hot spring area with a long history. It's a corner of a vast hot spring area, and there aren't many people, so it's different from traditional hot spring areas. The hot spring water is completely free-flowing and can be used all night. The simple bath in a deserted hot spring may not be suitable for a modern inn, but it's cheap, the amount of side dishes for dinner is sufficient, and the innkeeper is kind. It is used for archery training camps and is good for archery enthusiasts. It appears that pets are also welcome. I felt that the inn had a rustic feel. Good for a simple, unpretentious trip with good old friends.

I would recommend Uotoshi Ryokan to anyone visiting Yudanaka. It is a lovely traditional Japanese inn with comfortable rooms and a relaxing hot spring bath. It is very conveniently located near Snow Monkey park, many restaurants, and the Yudanaka train station. The owners are kind and helpful, and even offer to drive you to Snow Monkey Park! We will stay here again if we come back to Yudanaka.

If you are on a budget, this was a good place to stay with shared bathrooms and sink areas. Shared bathroom has 2 stalls, very small and sink areas have 2 with upstairs and downstairs. I think this place's capacity is 8 parties total. We stayed for 3 nights and chose breakfast. Breakfast was delicious and owners were hospitable. We felt bad that they had to work on New Year's. Most of the surrounding area was closed from New Year's Eve through 01/04/23, but surprisingly Snow Monkey Park was open on New Year's. If you're wanting 3 star hotel amenities, this is not the place for you, but for the price we paid we felt it was reasonable and truly did experience the traditional ryokan experience and the onsen onsite was a plus.

Although the scheduled check-in time on the day was quite late, I was welcomed very comfortably.Personally, I like the bath and customer service💮.Are there a few facilities? It's getting old, but I think those who love traveling will enjoy the a**osphere.This is an inn I'd like to stay at again.
