The location of the hotel is excellent because it take 5-10 minites from hotel to Kyoto station. It was very convenient for me if I am traveling to all the scenery nearby Kyoto. Food and beverages is available surrounding the hotel, you can just have a light breakfast and then start to travel to your destination of choices.

Staff Are very attentive and quick, they are able to assist you in English too if you can't communicate in Japanese. Transport is easy as it is located about 10-15 minutes away from Kyoto Station which has Shinkansen/JR trains/bus available. Given a cozy room with various options of daily cleaning (none/basic/partial/full) main difference being if you want the bathtub to be washed / bed to be made, so you can hang it by your door to notify the crew accordingly.

I think it is a newly rebranded hotel. The room i had was very spacious. It is very near to Takashimaya and the train station. Also walking distance from the central shopping district. Centralized enough to visit a few of the famous sites in Kyoto.

Quite satisfied and great location for the price! Location is great and almost walkable to major parts of central Kyoto. For example Nishiki Market 1 minute (but overpriced), Karasuma and shopping streets 1 minute, Hankyu train line for going Osaka or other places just 6 minute, Big local shopping malls like Fresco and LIFE or Takashimaya store just 10 minute. Moreover it is within walking distance to Gion area and Panchoto alley and river. Although the room is small, is convenient and bed was quite tall that myself as Big Caucasian 180+cm had no issue in size of bed. Shower and toilet also very clean and have all amenities included. Also the lobby is good to mingle or eat food as there is microwave available. The luggage can be kept free-of-charge after checkout if have Suica. Breakfast is a bit simple and at Datour. not bad, but maybe can take without breakfast for more flexibility.

3 stations from JR Kyoto Station, a 5-minute walk from Nijo Station on the subway Tozai Line, and a very convenient location right next to Sanjo Shopping Street, the longest shopping mall in Kyoto City. It looks like a machiya hotel along an alley in a residential area, but there is a large dining space and a communal kitchen in the lobby on the first floor. It is a newly built hotel that was just built this year, and there are 3 washing machines on each floor, which is very convenient for long stays. The rooms are full of beds, but the bathrooms are average size and the rooms with kitchens are said to be slightly larger. Just like a one-room apartment, there are many people who stay for a long time, and it seems that all the guests are getting along well with the kind men at the front desk and the international student staff, just like a boarding house. I felt it.

They provided me with all the necessary information about the hotel facilities and the surrounding area, ensuring a smooth check-in process. The staff members were consistently helpful throughout my stay, always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests I had. The room I stayed in was cozy, comfortable, and well-appointed. Despite being compact, it offered ample space for a solo traveler like myself. The bed was comfortable, and the room amenities were modern and well-maintained. I particularly appreciated the complimentary Wi-Fi, which was fast and reliable.

I just stayed for two days. I was a little scared at first because there was no information about this hotel, but after I checked in, I found it to be very cost-effective! New hotel, about 2-3 minutes walk from the station. There is aeon nearby, as well as Akechi Mitsuhide statue and castle. If your itinerary is mainly Arashiyama, this hotel is very good. It is very fast to get to Arashiyama and there are beautiful scenery to see on the way! Many people are taking photos at Hojinkyo Station. It’s not expensive during the maple leaf season, it includes breakfast, and you can even take a bath! ! The night shift counter lady is very cute😏! ! ! ! ! And English is very good! Single decisive exchange phone numbers! The room was clean. There were no people on the street at night. My view was of the hotel and apartment opposite, but the space in the middle was very open and felt comfortable. We chose this hotel due to itsʻ location and it exceeded our expectations! The hotel staff was helpful and provided information in Japanese and English. We stayed for 13 days and were impressed with the hotelʻs determination to provide us with clean rooms, towels and other items. This hotelʻs location at Shijo/Karasuma made it easy to get to train stations, bus and the subway. There were also many excellent restaurants and shopping possibilities. One of the features we appreciated a lot was the laundry. We also appreciated that it was quiet.. didnʻt even hear people in the halls or doors close. Having lived in Kyoto for a long time, this was our first time to stay in a hotel and would recommend it for sure.

Pros : Close to JR Kyoto station, just about 10 mins walk. Hotel looks quite new & very clean Rooms are spacious enough (considering Japan’s standard) Staff are generally friendly and always prompt to offer help. Very extensive breakfast buffet spread, literally one of the best we had before. Definitely worth booking a room package including breakfast. The only downside, the hotel tends to be a little overcrowded and bustling during our stay. It’s great for families but if you are looking for quiet or private getaway, then you may want to consider elsewhere.
