What a lovely find! Perfect spot for a romantic weekend in York. Rooms were great and the staff were welcoming and friendly! Also very centrally located, great for shopping and eating, but also set back from the noise. Would definitely return here. :-)

Awesome location, wonderful accomodation and very atmospheric. Oozing history, its a worthwhile place to stay. Great staff led by Rachel who made the stay even more special. The rooms were original places for the visiting judges above stairs and the staff below stairs. Spooky in parts and ideally located for the whole of old York to visit

Lovely little hotel tucked down an alleyway. Lovely welcome off the receptionist on arrival we were offered a complimentary glass of wine. Rooms are lovely with soft pillows and very clean. They put a fan on our room and wondered why until late that night I realized it's so hot and stuffy nothing they can do as it's an old building with small windows. Shower amazing 😍 only thing that concerned me was arriving late on our second night stay our door was left wide open and wedges presumingly by the housekeepers so everyone could see our belongings luckily nothing was taken.

Hotel staff were very friendly , a complimentary glass of wine each upon arrival .
We loved our room and the MB toiletries were a delight especially for the bath in our room. The only slight downside was the noise from a brewery delivery next door at 6am . I’d still go back and recommend

Had a fantastic overnight stay in this little gem of a hotel! The building itself is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable, spacious and decorated beautifully. The staff were all lovely, welcoming and polite. We got an unexpected glass of wine on arrival which was lovely! And there are all the amenities you would require in the room including a mini fridge and coffee making facilities. The location is smack bang in the middle of York centre in walking distance from the shambles. We will definitely be back 😁😁
