Sorry to say we won't be back."

We didn’t have any food at the hotel so can’t comment on that, but we did have a complimentary coffee on our morning of departure which was very much appreciated! Last time we came, we stayed at The Grand, and we have also visited The Churchill previously. I would say Hotel du Vin exceeds both. 10/10 no notes, and would definitely stay again."

Breakfast was amazing because of the fruits.. after many days with just English Breakfast 🙃 The only thing that is not good is internet connection. Poor!"

"A clean and comfortable guest house run by a lovely couple. We stayed in the large family room for 3 nights. Yes it could do with some TLC, however you won’t find anywhere else so close to the city centre for this price. The room was large, clean beds and clean towels and an ensuite bathroom , there are some toiletries to use if needed, the stairs are quite steep as it’s a traditional home. There’s no drink facilities in the room but you are free to use the shared kitchen to make drinks and store food, the host baked us some lovely sweet treats too. This is not a bed and breakfast, however there are numerous places to buy breakfast nearby from a freshly baked croissant at the end if the road, a posh breakfast about 5 minutes walk or a McDonald’s in the city centre. The street is very quiet and only a 10 minute walk to the Minster. You are able to park outside to unload the car but must move it after 10 minutes. We parked in Marygate car park which is only about a 2 minute walk, it’s quite expensive though, there is free on road parking further away. We would stay here if we visit York again."

"Overall a lovely place, but our room number 10 was at the front Of the hotel and we were woken by noise from the bar accross the road on each night and also the delivery of barrels early one morning. Breakfast was superb and staff very friendly. Would stay again but at the back of the hotel"
