GGuest UserThe hotel is very close to the train station, about a 5-minute walk through the city walls, which is very convenient. York city isn't large, and most attractions and shopping streets are within walking distance. We booked two rooms and arrived a little after 2 PM. The front desk initially thought we only had one room and assigned us a room on the first floor, ignoring our request for a higher floor. When I told him we had booked two rooms, he then said the other room could be on a higher floor, but we couldn't get the keys until after 3 PM. So, we had to take all our luggage to the first-floor room first. As soon as we opened the door, there was a strange smell, which got a little better after turning on the air conditioning. Since we were only staying for one night, we didn't bother to discuss it further. When we returned in the evening, we picked up the keys for the second room, which was on a higher floor. The cleanliness was noticeably better than the first-floor room, and there was no strange smell. Both rooms were quite spacious, which was a plus. Breakfast was semi-buffet style; you could order one hot dish, and then help yourself to bread, fruit, and other items.

GGuest UserI've stayed at this hotel before and I will definitely be staying again. The location is ideal for me with easy access to the city centre either by walking, bus, or taxi. The rooms have always been very clean and a good size too. The buffet style breakfast is always superb and leisure facilities give you a chance to unwind in the pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room.
The staff have always been pleasant, friendly, and polite.
5 stars from me!

DDonnatheexplorerWhat a wonderful find. The location couldn't have been better, a short walk from the train station and very close to the centre of York. Saying this, the location was on a very quiet spot, perfect!
A welcome drink either alcoholic/non alcoholic was included within the cost of the booking and the reception staff were extremely welcoming.
The room itself was small but more than adequate and very, very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

The service staff is very warm and thoughtful, and the details are handled well, making people feel at home. The location is also very convenient, it is very convenient to eat, drink and play around. The overall experience is very satisfactory, I will choose to stay here next time!

GGuest UserGreat hotel, close to the centre of town. Downside, it’s very noisy. Apartments in the next block over shouting / screaming at the top of their voices late at night.
Doors slam in rooms so everyone gets woken up when people go in / out.
Breakfast was poor. No fresh food put out the whole time I was there and nothing topped up even. No jam for toast!!
£17.99 for a spaghetti bolognaise was also steep but, more tasty than the breakfast.
