Lovely hotel, great location, Room warm and bed very comfortable. Everything we needed. Very nice and helpful staff.

We went for afternoon tea which was mediocre but general level of customer service was awful. We arrived and were told by the receptionist to wait 2 minutes as she was busy doing something with her colleague. The table was already laid out with milk on the table. We were asked if we wanted tea but no suggestion of types. The food came with no explanation of what any of the things were. When the pot of tea arrived it was not the hottest it could have been. When I went to pay the waiter had problems with the till (possibly a new system) but then went off to find someone else to see to it without a word of explanation.

Came here for a visit to the wonderful city of York and all staff at the hotel were kind and accomodating from start to finish. Bed size for us both was enormous, plenty of space and a beautiful bathroom - I look forward to returning here when we come back to York :)

Had a lovely afternoon tea at Middletons today. I’m glad I didn’t read the reviews before I went as I may have changed my plans. I’ve had a lot of afternoon teas at many different places. Betty’s, The Grand, various hotels and other restaurant chains Some have been lovely, some disappointing. Today’s was lovely. Yes, there was only one plate of savoury, but this is not unusual. The sandwiches were generously filled. The sausage rolls, scones and cakes were delicious. We did have a voucher for half price afternoon tea. But the quality was up there with some of the best I’ve experienced. The hotel restaurant was quiet, but it was lunchtime at a hotel in York. I would assume guests go elsewhere for lunch whilst exploring the city. That’s what I do when I’m on holiday. It was my first visit to Middletons today but I wouldn’t hesitate to return

Lovely hotel, with parking. Close to all the city has to offer. This was our second time at this hotel. We would definitely book again.

Great location, car park a bonus only £12.50 overnight, lovely room. Would definitely stay again.
