On the whole, this hotel was good, which included location of hotel, onsite parking, lovely gardens, white company toiletries in room, air con, cleanliness, and bfast choices. However we were given a dark shoe box of a room with a tiny window that was covered by the wardrobe rail!! Very claustrophobic. I wish I had complained at the time but didn't want to make a fuss as was hubby bday and we had a table booked in town. However the nxt morning after spending one night in it we couldn't have had another in this room (31). Reception offered us another room but wouldn't be ready until 3pm so we accepted and spent our time in the town . The room was bigger and had 2 windows but was tired. Stained carpet tiny sink in bathroom.. I paid over £400 for2 nights b&b , I didn't expect The Ritz but when I looked into accommodation later I realised there were a lot of other 4* hotels to stay in located nr centre a lot cheaperwith better looking rooms. All I say is do your research and look at the rooms before you book ! The sunshine helped enormously and York great for long wkend !
