The Limes

Stayed at the Limes due to working in the area for a few days; great location for getting to the racecourse, parking was ample and the host was fantastic. Very welcoming and friendly, truly made you feel at home and recommended some local eateries for us to try. Would definitely recommend and would 100% stay again.

It felt more like a hostel and certainly not like a 4* B&B. Overpriced for the offer. No real hosting and couldn’t get the WiFi to work. No chef so no breakfast even though we were told breakfast was possible. Room was very shabby, dirty and cold. Whole place felt unloved. Not a great location. Would not recommend.

I was very disappointed with the limes. When we arrived we paid the man and he showed us to a room but never saw him again after that. The pictures on the website show a much nicer picture. My room was very dusty and mouldy in window. The plug in sink was filthy and the fan didn't work in shower so condensation dripping from windows. I felt like the owner had lost interest and let the place go. It definitely wasn't a 9.2 like it shows

Had a superb 4 day break here lovely rooms and the hosts are very helpful would definitely recommend to anyone considering it

Satisfactory stay. Good location for us, nice walk into the city by the river. A bit old fashioned. WiFi worked but weak. Bed very soft.

Very good clean room. Hotel.com website states room only but breakfast could be paid at hotel. Hotel's own website mentions breakfast. No breakfast was available.... We were referred to local cafe a good 10 min walk which wasn't open on Sunday. Hotel had no bar No staff and No lift. How does this justify a 4 star rating

Great York Race meet stopover. Friendly hosts and good location. Comfortable rooms and good local bars with good meals if there for an extended stay beyond a race meeting. Recommend getting a taxi to the race course.

Lovely big, characterful house. Service with a style. Fantastic Yorkshire breakfast with a fuall range of cereals and conserves.
