Very clean studio apar**ent with loads of hot water and very friendly hosts. Didn't try the jacuzzi. Our studio was in the basement so no view but only 10 mins walk from the city centre via Museum gardens. Cost was reasonable

If you wish to see York, this is a good place to stay. I don’t all enjoy breakfast, but like the room and staff were all lovely.

Amazing hotel in good location, 5 to 10 minutes walk to centre. Friendly, helpful staff. Bedroom, very clean with lovely cosy bed. Beautiful garden for relaxing. Restaurant food excellent, breakfast and our evening meal. Really enjoyed our stay, will definitely be back.

Like the lactation, comfy bed. But overall was disappointed as book deluxe room to celebrate husband's birthday and expected to have luxury bathroom as stated on website and other extra touches like espresso coffee machine. Was told that only one of deluxe rooms looks like that and is already booked. So misleading information on websites. Should be stated there, as if I have known, I wouldn't booked it as I did it only for that deluxe bathroom

The owners of this hotel were so helpful and accommodating right from the start of booking. Arranging for everything we needed for a young baby to be in the room. Nothing was too much trouble. Very warm welcome on arrival and looked after us throughout our stay. Thank You!

On their website the owners claim "The family-friendly Hedley House Hotel in York really does tick all the boxes" This claim by the family who own and manage the hotel is absolutely spot-on! Speaking to staff on the telephone before our visit gave me a good feeling; the welcome was second to none. Our bedroom was tastefully furnished and the modern en-suite had walk in shower. The hotel is immaculately clean with what appears to be a lot of new carpets and furniture. Pre-ordering dinner in the morning and breakfast the night before (with a tick list in the bedroom) ensures that food is freshly cooked to order, at a time to suit guests, of high quality and reasonably priced. I'm always reticent to give high praise to any hotel because it could become too popular and difficult to book....but I'll risk it in this case.....they deserve it!
