A little way from the town centre. Only needed a base as it was only needed to sleep. But was comfy clean.

Really enjoyable weekend at Ashbourne House. Warmly welcomed by Fiona who was happy to provide helpful information. Slept well in a comfortable bed & pillows, rooms beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Good size bathroom with hot powerful shower, again all spotlessly clean. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Lots of marmalades and jams to choose from. 20 mins walk along the river path to York centre, road outside the B&B well supplied with buses. Would happily stay here again.

We had a lovely greeting upon arrival and an informative introduction to both the area and the house itself, where we were shown to our room. The heat control in the room was incredible with a ceiling fan to keep us cool in the rooms warm climate The room was also accompanied with tray of snacks, teas and coffee as well as make up remover, cotton bud and cotton pads. The room itself was very comfortable and we had a very enjoyable stay in York!

Ricardo and Fiona are the consumate hosts. Checked us in quickly even though we arrived late. Made us feel completely at home. The property is very well kept. The rooms are lovely. Good light. Fresh. Very comfortable. It has easy access to the sites in York. This is where you should stay in York!
