This family hotel near York Railway Station is very nice, with a good experience, warm decoration and good environmental hygiene. It is very convenient to famous attractions such as York Minster and Shambles. Very cost-effective!

Not far from the train station, just past a large parking lot, the room is very clean, there is a TV in the room, you can watch Youtube, the bathroom is also large, there is a bathtub in the family room (1 large bed + 2 small beds), hotel The service was also very good. Lovely house, beautifully decorated with nice period and artistic touches. Comfortable en-suite room, plumbing a bit Victorian so needed a lot of effort to flush! No on-site presence at night, breakfast order to be made the night before, cash payment preferred. Quite pricey for B&B.

The location was excellent, bathroom recently renovated and the room & linens spotlessly clean. You have to be prepared for stairs, no lift & small rooms, it's an old building & in the UK. There was nobody around, nobody to answer questions except by sms. As others have mentioned, it's in the fine print that breakfast is an extra cost (&quite pricey), so I found cheaper decent cafes in walking distance. I didn't mind that flexibility. However, the mattress was incredibly uncomfortable with giant dip, squeaky and I could feel the bedsprings. I'd have happily thrown it out the window if I thought it would fit. That led to my lower review score.

Just home after a two night stay, ideally located just a 10 min walk through the park to the minster or 10 min walk along the river, a lovely charming home from home full of old world charm, friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. Sat in the sun trap yard and enjoyed the complementary champagne that came with the deal we booked, and a big thank you for the card and balloons to celebrate my hubbys big birthday. We didn’t have breakfast but it did smell good.

Had very pleasant stay here the weekend before last. Room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was excellent and all the staff I met were very friendly and helpful. Parking nearby was not an issue and the minster and central York are only a few minutes' walk away through Museum Gardens. Would recommend.

1- Every B&B that we had stayed before the breakfast was included not this one. We had to pay for breakfast. 2- We were placed on top floor with too many stairs to climb with heavy suitcases. We had made this reservation way in advance and no one had warned us about the stairs. 3- No hand soap except liquid soap, no washcloth, no hairdryer, no bathmat. 4- No one in the B& B to answer our questions. 5- No map of the city. They had ran out they said. Extremely disappointed.

The b&b is nice, little off the main area of downtown but not that far. Good breakfast. The room also good not that small with windows! The only complaint is the lady that runs the place I think, she checks you in and does breakfast and all, when we arrived she was gentle, she leaves at 4 and there’s no one after that, but on our check out she wouldn’t let us do it later than 10:30 majority of places do it at 12 or at least 11 am, the couple next to us in breakfast ask the same and she said no problem leave at 1 pm but not us. We left our luggage and went back later to pick it up and she was very rude, almost like making us a favor to use the bathroom wich was in the basement. Anyway no customer service at all. We will prefer to stay somewhere else next time, closer to everything and with more caring service.
