Hotel du Vin & Bistro York

First class hotel and restaurant, plus excellent location for getting into the centre of York. Would definitely use again.

Perfect weekend made even more special by the excellent team. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is really well located a short walk from the train station and all the sites of York. It is super comfortable, A cosy home from home. Rooms were really well appointed with super comfy bedding. Our stay was made even more special by the amazing team. From the check in, an afternoon cup of tea and breakfast. Super professional and friendly staff. Highly recommended - thank you.

The room was to warm even when the heating was turned off. The price you pay is a bit on the high side for it's location as it is about a 10 to15 minute walk to the city centre. The hotel parking could be free as this could help with future booking because of its location and a good gesture to anybody looking to booking this hotel. This hotel is good for some people but for some people who want to be in the city center who have difficulties in getting around there is other hotels with the same standards closer to the center of york. The bar prices are higher then some hotels i have stayed in. I have to say the room was nice, breakfast was ok the staff were helpful and polite, checking in and out was a breeze. The restaurant in the hotel was great but this can also be a bit on the expensive side for that experience for some people. Overall the trip was good but i would look at saying near the city centre when booking York again just a bit to far out for me and i am a fit and active person also with this location on a cold wet and windy night walking back to your hotel could be interesting. Plus i have only ever seen taxis at the train station and down by York minster when out and about in the city centre.

Comfortable and easy access to town

Really nice hotel a very short walk to York city centre. Room was great. Lovely walking shower and rolled top bath.

We had such a good stay here in York! My now Fiancé proposed to me and with the help of the lovely Christina on reception we celebrated! We were upgraded to a lovely suite and enjoyed mocktails in the bar. Sultana on reception was also very helpful! We will be back this time with the baby :) Thank you to all staff!

My boyfriend and I have just returned from the best stay at the Hotel Du Vin in York. Upon arrival they upgraded our room free of charge and offered us a drinks voucher for opting for the eco-friendly maid service. Our beautiful room was spotless and tucked away at the top of some stairs which made us feel like we had our own space and privacy. Prior to arrival, we let the hotel know we were bringing our dog and they had already placed 2 bowls, a dog bed and a pet passport ready for us in the room. Every member of staff we interacted with over our 2 night stay was friendly and incredibly helpful. The location was perfect for walking into town and local to amenities. The bed was huge and so comfy. The bathroom was incredible and we started planning how we are going to renovate our own bathroom at home to copy it completely. We would definitely stay here again when we return to York and would recommend this to all of our friends and family.

Good location and very pleasant staff. Rooms and hotel in need of a refresh. Evening bistro menu very good and excellent fish cooked well. Breakfast a little disappointing given others reviews with hard bacin and suasages, no mushrooms..limited cold choices. Bar area is small but fine and bar tender very good at cocktails.
