As someone who walked from Yufuin Station with a suitcase, I recommend taking a taxi! It's not a long distance, but the uphill slope at the end is very steep! It is located on a mountainside compared to other accommodations, so once you check in, it is difficult to go outside unless you call a taxi! Instead, it has a lot of charm, the air is nice, and it's quiet. There is an indoor women's bath, an indoor men's bath, an outdoor women's bath, an outdoor men's bath, 2 indoor private baths, and 2 outdoor private baths. You can choose according to your preference, but the outdoor private bath is the most popular, so it is difficult to get in unless you open it. ㅠ It was nice that each private bath was equipped with a simple shower, towels, shampoo, body wash, hair dryer, etc. The kaiseki set meal comes with simple shabu-shabu, sashimi, and rice in the evening, and rice, miso soup, and side dishes in the morning. To be honest, I ate it because it was included in the package, but if there is an additional cost, I think I will consider it. Other than that, staff. Everyone was friendly, and for an old accommodation, it was clean, so I had a good rest. Since it's on the side of a mountain, there's nothing to do other than the hot springs, so I think one night will be enough.

It's a bit far from Yufuin Station and the road is difficult (there are a lot of uphill roads), but it was okay because I used the Chiki service at the Yufuin Tourist Center to send my luggage first and then go sightseeing in Yufuin before returning. Musouen is famous for its large public bath, but the outdoor family bath also has a nice view, so I was able to enjoy a very satisfying hot spring bath. The staff are also very friendly. If you want a Japanese ryokan experience, I recommend Musouen.

The women's only bath was good, but the family bath was also really good. The staff are also very friendly. The food isn't very delicious, but it's acceptable. I want to go again next time!

The hotel staff are very good and can help with luggage. There are Chinese-speaking counter staff and communication is very good. There is coffee on the first floor that you can drink for free. I heard that the homemade pudding is very famous and is for adults. It costs 550 per person and can be taken to the room to eat outdoors. The hot spring is very beautiful, but unfortunately there is no bathroom in the room to take a bath, which is a bit annoying in winter 😂
