Hotel A'Mare Reviews

Very nice location and reasonable price. Unfortunately, my friend's backpack was stolen in the hotel. Luggage storage was unguarded. Travellers can go in and out and drop down their luggage easily. My friend's suitcase and backpack were pushed out by the others but they did not put them back and her belongings were left outside of the luggage room for a really long time. The luggage room was opposite the concierge but none of the staff tried to put her stuff back to the room. Eventually, my friend's backpack were stolen. We only realised it when we came back to the hotel and took our stuff. The staff was not that helpful and even tried to stop my friend from calling the police. After the staff checked the cctv and confirmed one of their customers who checked in that day stole my friend's backpack, she could finally call the police. Luckily, the police acted so fast or we would have missed our flight. The stay was pleasant despite this unfortunate event happened. Many of the valuable items were placed in the backpack and my friend was really upset. I hope the hotel can make a response of it and offer some compensation.

It's OK, pretty good, breakfast, hygiene, environment, service are all good, Zadar is worth a visit, we came by car, the old town is beautiful, very good, recommended.

Very good value for money! There are no slippers and toothbrushes, so you need to bring them by yourself. If the room is small and there are a lot of luggage, it is best to bring some toiletries in the car. It is enough for one night! Breakfast is ok, just a quick refreshment for Chinese stomachs! It’s basically ham, bread, eggs, a small amount of fruit, raisins and pickled products!

Terrible. Smelly. No normal road to get in. You have to take a dirt road with many turns. This is a B&B, not a hotel.

Not bad, not bad. The black man at the hotel front desk is very enthusiastic.

Not bad, close to surrounding attractions, there is a subway downstairs.

Nice hotel, great environment

I organised an academic event at the University of Zadar and the visiting lecturers stayed at A'Mare. We were all very pleased with the hotel indeed. It is modern and well-appointed, with a very nice bar and restaurant with terrace. The staff are all really friendly and helpful (particularly Marko at the reception!). The beds are very comfortable! A'Mare is approximately a ten minute walk to the bridge into the old town, or a Bolt taxi is around €4.5 to the department of sociology at the eastern end of the old town. The hotel is listed as 3*, but I think it should really be a 4*. We are returning for the same event next year, and we will be staying at A'Mare.

Me and my friend stayed here for 3nights and we really enjoyed our stay, we got Bolt from the airport which cost 12euro The hotel is in a more residential area of Zadar, some of the surrounding buildings are a bit run down but this certainly didn't affect our stay at the Hotel The hotel is absolutely spotless and still has the new feel about it, lovely clean decor, all the staff were very professional and friendly. The room had complimentary toiletries and on our stay it got cleaned every day, beds were comfy, the blackout blinds were great and certainly served their purpose. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, only thing i did notice was the cooked area was usually only lukewarm at best, one day the mushrooms were almost cold but another day they were really hot. Hotel is a 10min walk down to the footbridge which takes you straight into the old town, it was a lot closer to the old town than i thought it would be, theres a small corner shop straight across from the hotel which was reasonably priced

Hotel is situated a short walk from city center / old town, easy accessible, and if you walk other directions than city center, there’s a lot of local places to be discovered. We paid 25 euro taxi fare going from the airport to the hotel, and 35 euro the opposite way. Takes 20 minutes. Book a hotel yourself, go with Uber, or use the bus going every half hour for cheaper fare. The hotel itself was a delight. We loved sitting at the patio, the bar was amazing, and the rooms was clean, a great bed, and even though small, the room had everything. The service among ALL staff was perfect, and they knew what they were doing. Cons: coffee at breakfast is terrible!

A great hotel, really modern and super clean with great staff. The location is a ten minute walk down the hill to the footbridge into the old town, and a similar walk up to the sports stadium. Other tan that there is nothing in the immediate surrounding area which is residential. For us it was a great location though as we were attending a sporting event at the arena and then in free time were able to eat in and explore the old town. I'd definitely stay here again.

Booked Zadar as a last minute trip & the first city break we have done, with our two young children. On arrival the hotel looks like a rose between thorns as the surrounding area is still quite rustic, but you can clearly the see the city is up and coming. Great location and easily accessible to the old town for walking! Hotel is modern deco (which we love), beautifully kept and clean. Room was perfect and enough space for all four of us, we had breakfast included and was completely worth it! Good variety & staff were so friendly. Didn’t eat for dinner as went out every evening but found ourselves enjoying the range of cocktails through out the stay, overall would absolutely stay here again and really enjoyed our first visit!!

This hotel was a lovely surprise. Really nice rooms, great restaurant that also served an excellent breakfast, and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. There is a 10-15 minute walk down to the wonderful old city of Zadar. Parking can be an issue, but with patience can be found.
