Loved this place, everything was great, food, drinks, pool, gym.. baggage storage after check out. Wish i had more time.. and the aircon after 3 weeks without any was the icing on top of the cake.. bed was really comfortable. They allowed an early check in too.. i have absolutely nothing bad to say 👌 staff really friendly and polite as well

After spending one night in Zanzibar to prepare for boarding the ship, we chose this lovely hotel in Stone Town. What you see is what you get, clean and comfortable, convenient location, convenient for shopping, close to the pier, and there are good Chinese restaurants nearby. Overall very satisfied.

A very simple and cute room. Staff was very friendly and welcoming! The hotel is walking distance to everything. I will definitely stay there again if I'm ever back in Stone Town.

Very nice hotel. Conveniently located to all Stone Town attractions. If there are any issues the front desk manager will do her best to rectify the situation. My only issue unfixable was the food or maybe It was the water they refill for the rooms. I recommend be on side of caution and drink only bottled water. Don't eat anything uncooked (salads juices made with ice etc.) And you won't spend most of your time in bathrooms.

I recently stayed at the Maru Maru Hotel in Zanzibar and was thoroughly disappointed with my experience. The most glaring issue was the lack of cleanliness in the room. Upon arrival, I found the room to be in an unacceptable state: Dirty Sheets: The bed linens had visible stains and didn't seem to have been changed from the previous guests. Dust and Dirt: Surfaces were covered in dust, and the floor was visibly dirty. Bathroom Issues: The bathroom had mold in the shower, and the sink was not properly cleaned. Unpleasant Odor: There was a lingering unpleasant odor in the room, making it uncomfortable to stay in. Despite raising these concerns with the staff, there was no significant effort to rectify the situation. This lack of attention to cleanliness and hygiene is simply unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed caliber. I would not recommend Maru Maru Hotel to anyone. The lack of cleanliness severely detracted from my experience, and I hope the management takes serious steps to address these issues for future guests. Until then, look elsewhere for accommodation in Zanzibar.
