Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The excellent service rendered by the staff made our honeymoon much sweeter. Everyone was friendly, kind and always willing to help. Room was really nice and the extra sauna and open concept bathtub was a nice surprise! Breakfast spread was super delicious as well. Facilities like the wellness area include foot bath, infrared chairs, jacuzzi etc.

The food is fresh and tastes good. The front desk service is good, and there is a coffee machine in the room for you to drink. The room has a terrace, where you can sit on the terrace and watch the stars at night. The hotel has a fitness room and sauna.

This is the high-end hotel at the very edge of the Zermatt town. It has an amazing view of the Matterhorn when the sky is clear. We stayed 8 nights for a ski trip last winter. The breakfast was phenomenal and all the amenities in the rooms are well-kept, in tip-top condition. The only "con" is that the hotel is quite far from some of the ski lifts, so be prepared to take a bus in the morning. We rented a ski locker next to one of the lifts to save ourselves from lugging the skis back and forth on the bus everyday. We also love to use the saunas at the spa! Do email in advance and ask the staff to organize ski passes + restaurant bookings should you need it! They are very helpful.

Charming, small hotel about a 15 walk outside of Zermatt town center. We appreciated the quiet and being outside the bustle, but some may wish to be closer. The hotel has recently been renovated, so our room was fresh and modern inside a traditional chalet. Breathtaking views of the Matterhorn.

Everything was Superb! Wonderful staff. Very accommodating. The fondue is to die for. Must try both the deluxe with truffle and the standard. Sat in the private “hobbit house”! Excellent experience and service. Worth every penny ! The atmosphere, background tasteful music and service excellence. Perfect evening to close our skiing trip in Zermatt!

We could not fault our stay at the Matthiol! We stayed for a week for our winter Honeymoon and to ski, and it was absolutely perfect! The rooms are beautifully appointed and spacious. The views are gorgeous and the location is just a short walk from one of the free bus stops. The breakfast buffet was THE BEST we have ever had, and the restaurant, Filet et Fils, was brilliant (the fondue huts were also a delicious and cool experience). The staff and service were absolute stand-outs. They were so helpful, providing recommendations and helping to coordinate ski hire etc. We will definitely come back next time we're in Zermatt, and we can't wait to stay again. Thank you to the Matthiol for making our Honeymoon so special!

We love the Matthiol. We've stayed there twice. Beautiful boutique hotel with gorgeous, well-equipped rooms. The staff are wonderful - a joy. The location is a bit of a walk from downtown but it's worth it for the quiet and the view. Access to trams/lifts and trails is excellent. The breakfast buffet is superb and the staff will augment with cook-to-order items such as eggs, bacon, etc. The dinner menu is somewhat limited but the food is excellent. Very attentive and fun restaurant staff. We will visit Matthiol again!

Amazing experience. We booked the spa room and did not regret it. Nothing better than sauna / steam / tub time after a long day of hiking. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly, especially Dany in the restaurant who served us for dinner and breakfast over two days. The hotel is a bit out of the main city center, but that just made it all the better. The walk to the center was only 15 mins so it wasn’t too much when we did want to head into town. All in all a fabulous experience, we will definitely be back.
