Find the Cheap Zermatt Hotels

We could not fault our stay at the Matthiol! We stayed for a week for our winter Honeymoon and to ski, and it was absolutely perfect! The rooms are beautifully appointed and spacious. The views are gorgeous and the location is just a short walk from one of the free bus stops. The breakfast buffet was THE BEST we have ever had, and the restaurant, Filet et Fils, was brilliant (the fondue huts were also a delicious and cool experience). The staff and service were absolute stand-outs. They were so helpful, providing recommendations and helping to coordinate ski hire etc. We will definitely come back next time we're in Zermatt, and we can't wait to stay again. Thank you to the Matthiol for making our Honeymoon so special!

The front desk was very welcoming and there was someone there at midnight. The breakfast was very good. The view from the balcony was nice. It was very beautiful when the weather was good. Everything is expensive in Switzerland. Compared to the price, the room was average.

The hotel enjoys a prime location, situated centrally between the train station and cable station. The sauna facilities are worth trying. Breakfast offers a satisfying selection. This hotel is a bit far away from the train station. When I went to navigate, I passed the train track and had to move the boxes. It was very hard. When I came back, I led a road that didn't need to cross the train track. You can see the Matterhorn from the balcony of the room you booked. The breakfast was ok, and the hot sausage was great. Close to the train station. Although I got an upgrade to a double room, it was small (the table in front of the bed takes a lot of space). The bathroom was big and clean but outdated. The balcony was nice but not really needed in winter. Everyone can enter the ski room and the individual locker cannot be locked. Perfect for thieves.

The hotel is a 4-star hotel, owned by the Julen family, which has four hotels and three restaurants in Zermatt. A piece of lambskin is provided on the outdoor chairs. For views and sunshine this definitely the best area of Zermatt. It’s only a few meters away from the official Zermatt viewpoint, which should tell you all you need to know. The service has been great and all the staff are super attentive all the way. Breakfast with local delicacies is great as well as the sauna and steam bath facilities. The taxi pick up service to the hotel from the train station makes for a very smooth arrival. The same applies when you are leaving. Zermatt is car free so you have to walk a few mins into town to go to a restaurant or visit shops but we actually enjoyed those little walks. In the winter you can ski in but you have to know exactly where to leave the piste. Once you know it it’s easy. All of the premises feel well put together and solid, good materials. We can really recommend this place!
