We had a nice experience and enjoy the service from the check-in, bar reservation, luggage handling to the stay itself. But I’d say the experience was completely ‘ruined’ by the breakfast service. The service we have received at the breakfast was appalling. As you know we’re a big group of 9 and understand that accommodating a big group is rather challenging, but should not be compromised, as we pay no less than a couple. Also the hotel offers “family room” meaning a group should be welcomed. To explain what has happened in detail, my sister went to breakfast and mentioned that we’re a group of 9 and is happy to be seated as 4 and 5. Our request was that we wanted to be seated by the window to enjoy the view that your hotel promoted (which is of course why we picked your hotel over a more spacious hotel). We understand that the tables by the windows are occupied at the time but we see that the guests are finishing their breakfast so we mentioned that we’re happy to wait and switched when ready. The staff named “Bernadette” pulled a face at my sister following the request and grouped up with other staff, looking into our direction, and believably talked about us. I believe this is not a professional act, talking about guests in front of the guest herself is not what anyone has to dealt with. The act was so clear that the other guests seated nearby turned to my sister and said “we understand what you’re feeling”. My sister who had to faced such unacceptable service had to leave the room as she felt not OK, how this has already ruined our day. To further highlight the unprofessional act of service - the table we got seated had a direct sunlight shine directly into our eyes that we had to pull down the blind ourselves. After a few minutes, the table by the window that we requested were free, so I went to ask a gentlemen if we could switched to that table to enjoy the view, also that our current table had direct sun shining at our parents all the time. Instead of accommodating the ask, I got talked back that everybody loves the sun so I replied that we came from where the sun shines all the time. The gentlemen again, talked back that the table we wished to be seated has the sun directly shine every 5 minutes. He was so reluctant to switch the table for us. After I insisted to move, we sat there for an hour ‘without any direct sunlight’ shining into our eyes. We have stated our request at the very start and by asking to switch to another table even before any food was served should not be a big of a deal that we have to ‘try so hard’ to get what we wished for. The incidents truly shown the staff incapability or/and unwillingness to serve our group. We’re not sure if it was because we were the only Asians in the room or too big of a group, to be received such sickened act. But regardless, I believe that this incident should not have happened in a proclaimed 5-stars hotel. I hope this feedback gets taken seriously and no other guest should received
