Yuanyang Inns

During the National Day holiday, we drove from Jianshui to Yuanyang. After getting off the highway, there were more than 40 kilometers of mountain roads. Because it was cloudy, we drove for 1 and a half hours in the rain and fog with visibility of only about 10 meters to reach the hotel. After calling, the young lady came to the intersection to pick us up with an umbrella 🌂. When we checked in at the front desk, the young lady informed the room we booked that the entire park had no water and electricity, and it was under repair. I don’t know if the water and electricity can be restored tonight. We were temporarily arranged to stay in Xiangdian Ju, a subsidiary of the hotel. At four o'clock in the afternoon, the room we booked called, and the young lady upgraded us to a deluxe standard room. The room is on the second floor, and you can see the hotel swimming pool outside the window. It is more beautiful than the promotional picture, the mattress is soft and comfortable, the bathroom is TOTO, and the toiletries are Afu. I like Thai soap for hand washing. The only shortcoming is that the bathroom door and the glass door of the toilet are inconvenient to enter and exit; the restaurant in the manor is very beautiful, and there are Chinese and Western breakfasts. The cross-bridge rice noodles, bread, and salad are all delicious. Afternoon tea is given, and the waffles are very fragrant. We had dinner at the manor. The hot pot set for 2-3 people was too much for us two adults and two children. The vegetables were very fresh and the price/performance ratio was very high. It was a pleasant trip and I would recommend it to my friends👍

It was a pleasant stay in Hua wowo hotel. Air quality was super good there. It was the best place for watching the sunrising in the yard or in the room of the hotel, very nice view. Room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was a quiet place for holidays. Hotel restaurant offered local planted vegetables and local raised fishes from the terraces. The owner and other staffs of the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We will choose the same hotel if we visit again.

Jacky's is the place for me as someone who has very limited understanding of Chinese. Moreover, many of the older villagers can't speak Chinese anyway. Jacky is a native of this place. I chose a very basic room which was sufficient for my needs. He was most helpful with information on photography, himself being a photographer and Hani culture. He arranged arrival and departure for me and helped with luggage. Please be aware that you will be in a very rural and once remote part of the country, so don't expect luxurious surroundings. If you are squirmish about mud, dirt and animal droppings, well, get used to it and enjoy one of the wonders of human effort and creation. If you are a photographer, do yourself a favour and also get a drone. Incomparable and endless views of rice terraces. And yes, Duoduo their dog can take you for a walk down to the terraces.

What a great location for being amongst the terraces! We splurged and got the terrace view room, and it was very nice with a great view, comfortable bed, warm blankets, and hot shower. The room has an unblocked view of the terraces. But if you don't get that room, the upstairs balcony has the very best view. But we enjoyed watching the sunrise from our bed with hot tea. Lucian is really great! He explained to us different hiking options for seeing other views. His English is really good too so you can ask him any questions about the area. He has a sweet old dog and a cute young cat. He's also available to pick you up if you get lost or have trouble getting back after sunset. Arriving at the inn early, the boss arranged check-in as soon as possible. The inn can provide lunch and dinner, and the owner will cook it himself. The ingredients and cooking skills are great! Although the room didn't have air conditioning, it was definitely warm with electric heaters, electric blankets and extra blankets.

The inn is very close to the observation deck. We set out at 7:10 and only took a few minutes to walk there. It was still dark at that time. After watching the sunrise, we returned to the inn for breakfast at 9 o'clock. The room was spacious and clean, and you could see a small part of the scenery in the scenic area from the room. The boss and his wife were very enthusiastic. Next time I come, I will stay here again.

The best thing is that there are radiators and electric blankets, and I really sleep super well in the mountains. The housekeeper Ma Ge's family is very enthusiastic and very careful to plan the itinerary for us. When we left, we also told us to take the Yuanlv Second-Level Highway. It was really much better than the five sections of love. At first, I was afraid that we would not visit the attractions, and offered to lead us. We came back at night and prepared a charcoal stove for us to warm up. The eldest sister and dumplings are very delicious.
