The location is fantastic! Downstairs there's a bus station, making it super convenient to get to Sun Moon Lake. Taichung Station is also right in front, just a 6-7 minute walk away.
However, even though we stayed overnight, they only provided one bottle of water per person. The next morning, when I wanted to make coffee provided by the hotel and asked the front desk for another bottle, they refused. The staff member was a bit unfriendly and expressionless, and there's no water dispenser in the lobby for guests either.

For this trip to Taiwan, I stayed at the Grand Hotel Taipei for three nights. After a comprehensive renovation in recent years, it's completely transformed. The bathrooms now feature a bathtub and a separate shower, and the toilets have automatic bidet functions. The bedding is also brand new. The only minor change is that the renovation materials used are a bit darker in color. At night, the entire hotel is brilliantly illuminated and very eye-catching. I want to highlight that the hotel offers a shuttle bus every ten minutes to Yuanshan MRT Station – definitely don't miss out on this perk for guests! Taipei's MRT system is very extensive, making it super convenient to get around.

The location is excellent, right opposite Taichung Station. There's a supermarket, convenience store, and restaurants next door. The price is also reasonable.
What I didn't like was their very strict check-in and check-out times – check-out at 11 AM and check-in at 3 PM. They charge you for exceeding these times. However, one morning, they started cleaning the hallway at 9 AM, and the noise of the machines woke me up, even though it wasn't even housekeeping time yet. Also, on my first day, my room was already clean, but they wouldn't let me check in early. This feels like a double standard.
Jai Chateau Hotel and Hostels is strategically located in Tainan, with many local food options nearby—especially famous Tainan beef soup. It is also close to popular tourist attractions such as Chihkan Tower, Shennong Street, and the National Museum of Taiwan Literature. Tainan Railway Station is within walking distance, about 800 m away, which makes getting around very convenient.
The hotel is very suitable for solo travellers. The room is clean and well-organized, with six people sharing one room separated by curtains, providing good privacy. Both the room and shared bathroom can only be accessed with an access card, ensuring safety and privacy. The shared bathroom is well equipped and even has a Dyson hair dryer, which is a nice surprise.
There is a common space where guests can eat their food and relax. The hotel also provides free tea-time snacks and supper from 3 pm to 9 pm, featuring tasty Taiwanese-style food. Additionally, there is a game area where guests can play and socialize. Overall, it’s a comfortable and thoughtful stay, especially for solo travellers.

Excellent location right by the train station. Nice decor but obvious that the building and rooms are a bit dated already. Nice play area that the kids really enjoyed but looks like needed more dusting. Toilet is nice it has a bathtub and japanese toilet which is a big plus.
The homestay is on the coast, and the sea is full of shock!
These days, I have completely emptyed ~ empty ~ empty, very very comfortable 😌 The boss and his family are very kind, the environment is also very clean, and I don't want to leave at all for 3 nights!
The pets in the sea are super friendly 👍🏻 Mao children can walk freely (feeding mainly to maintain cleanliness independently) This time I took my son out, I am happy 😃 We will also be very happy ☺️
The intentions of the sea side, really feel it everywhere! 24-hour snack supply, Piercaden bedding, Swedish fragrance brand 19-69 Rainbow Bar bath series, super soundproof airtight windows...Living here, it's great value!
Great stay, will definitely come again ❤️

Stayed here for a short trip to Taitung and really appreciated the location—it’s close to the train station, which made getting around very easy. The room was clean and cozy, though a bit small, so better suited for travellers with small luggages . Breakfast was good, with quite a few individual set options to pick from.. Overall, a convenient and comfortable choice if you want quick access to transport and a nice start to your day.
This hotel really added a bonus to my trip in Tainan. It was honestly comfortable till the stage when the day ended, we actually looked forward to return to the hotel (didn’t feel like a hotel anymore, but more like going home)
The location is really good too. It’s in a pretty open area surrounded by residential places, markets, and sports areas, so everything is quite convenient. Places like Shennong Street and other attractions are about a 15-18 minute walk away. The whole area is nice for city walks, just casually walking around also feels interesting.
The room itself is new, clean, and well designed. Bathroom has proper dry-wet separation feels really nice and relaxing. The bed is also super comfortable and clean (there was just a few tiny hole, but it didn’t really affect anything)
Overall, the whole place has a really nice vibe. Good service, good room, good location, honestly very worth it for the price. My friend and I really liked it, and we didn’t really want to leave when we checked out.

Zzg29Splendid resort with fabulous breadfast and perfect location.
The breakfast spread is wide, ranging from the local Taiwan porridge with plenty of delicious side dishes to cooked food, assorted bread and western breakfasts. It's open till 11am daily.
Resort is a mere 5 mins walk to xiao wan beach and the night market. For those who don't drive, there is a bus stop outside the resort serving local bus and bus to kaohsiung.
Cleanliness is definitely above average and the staffs are always wearing a smile and greets us which definitely makes us feel welcomed.
Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for place to stay in kenting.
AAnonymous UserEverything was good during my stay in this hotel. The lighting of the room was a bit too dim for me, but it wasn't a problem during the day as there was plenty of sunlight from the window. What I like about is that they put a coffee table and an armchair by the window, making it quite enjoyable to do some reading during the day. The location is a okay, around 10-15 minutes walk from the closest MRT station. The way to the station was clear and had a variety of local shops to explore.

KkhtravelThe hotel's interior decor is stunning, with a strong Japanese feel. The rooms are clean and spacious, featuring a private onsen and yukata. Plus, there are complimentary drinks and snacks. If you check in around 3 PM, you can enjoy a tea ceremony performance with free green tea and snacks. Breakfast offers a wide and delicious selection!
MMJ FERNThe location is super convenient—just a short walk from Taipei Main Station, which made getting around the city and to the airport so easy. I always felt safe even when coming back a bit late, which is a huge plus when you’re traveling alone.
The place itself is clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and the common areas are nice if you want to relax or meet other travelers. What stood out the most was how accommodating and friendly the staff were—they’re always ready to help with directions, recommendations, or anything you need.
As a female solo traveler, safety and comfort are everything, and Main Inn definitely delivered. It has a welcoming vibe that makes you feel at home while still being budget-friendly.
Highly recommend this place if you’re planning a solo trip to Taipei 💛
SsjenskaaVery cheap but definitely of good value. The rooms are spacious, just not that many amenities (but that’s totally ok for the price). The hotel is located next to the railway, but we didn’t have any problem sleeping.
PPaul1stmayI had a pleasant stay overall, mainly because of the location. The hotel is very well-situated — it’s right in the center of everything, making it easy to find food, attractions, and nightlife nearby. You don’t have to walk too far to get around, which is very convenient.
The check-in and check-out process is strictly on time, but the hotel does provide a waiting area with seating, restrooms, and complimentary iced green tea, which helps make the experience more comfortable.
Breakfast, however, was a bit underwhelming. The hotpot option didn’t offer much variety — there was no meat, only items like fish balls and processed ingredients. I ended up trying it just once and decided it was better to spend the money eating outside instead.
The walls are also not very soundproof, so you may hear noise from neighboring rooms. That said, I personally found it an acceptable trade-off given how good the location is.
Overall, a solid choice if location is your top priority.
GGuest UserOverall is acceptable.
Good location, there are shops and restaurants nearby, is convenient to go attractive places.
The only thing is the hotel is old, seems like lack of maintenance and upgrades.
RrenzoisfineI definitely enjoyed my stay in Meworld Hotel since it is so near to the MRT station that made everything accessible and seamless.
The staff were so nice and accommodating. We asked for clean hotel and garbage bags and they were able to accommodate it right away.
Love that the shower had hot and cold options and a working TV. Love the mini refrigerator too!
Overall, it was a great stay and experience and will definitely recommend to everyone. 🤍🤍
AAlouAccomodation is very convenient walking distance to Ximending, Ximen Train station and Taipei Main Station. Other guests are very respectful in the room and maintaining cleanliness and noise. Very safe for solo travelers! You can also self check-out. Overall highly recommended. ❤️
GGuest UserThis stay was in the Pine View room, located in the newer annex. The facilities were new and clean, and the hot spring water quality was excellent. The overall lighting and environment were good. Unfortunately, the shower head was broken. The double bed was made of two single beds pushed together, and the mattresses felt quite old, with a noticeable bump where they joined but a dip in the middle, which made it hard to sleep comfortably. The breakfast offered a decent variety of Chinese and Western options. The staff were friendly and had a good attitude. I'd suggest they pay more attention to the quality control of the bamboo shoots served with the congee; they had a strong rancid smell, as if they'd been sitting for a long time.
