First, the sea is incredibly beautiful, with layered colors and even a crystal-clear Tiffany blue. The underwater scenery for snorkeling is stunning, comparable to the Great Barrier Reef. Swimming and boating are both very comfortable. The food is average, limited but expensive, yet still a must-try. The hotel's customer service is mediocre; booking a boat to the island involved about four emails and two phone calls, with confirmation only made on WhatsApp on the last day. The large boat to the island takes 5 hours, while the smaller boat takes 3 hours but is extremely bumpy; those prone to seasickness should be cautious. The large boat is less likely to cause seasickness. Another issue is that the showers and bathrooms are outdoors, attracting many flying insects when using the lights at night. If you're sensitive to insects, consider this carefully. However, we paid an extra 1000 to upgrade to a Beach Front Villa for one night, and the wind was stronger, resulting in fewer insects. The Beach Front Villa was also much more comfortable than the Garden Villa, although some of the single beds had unwashed sheets that were yellowed and contained a lot of sand.
All in all we had a great stay, it’s a great resort and a slightly cheaper alternative to the other hotels on the islands around. The pizza and reef are amazing. Still, the resort is quite stretched, especially to go to the toilets from the tree houses is too far and all in all just not as well equipped (e.g. missing aircon) as other resorts. Its probably more suitable for younger travelers who also look for evening programms.
Barefoot Manta was amazing! We spent 5 nights and had the best time. The staff were incredible, especially the resident marine biologist Rob who was a mine of information and enthusiasm. There are 3 different beaches to snorkel from and the snorkelling was the best we have ever seen, it is a protected marine reserve and we participated in coral planting which was great. The Manta Ray trips happened on 3 of our 5 days, it is a bit of an uncontrolled bun fight with various resorts sending their boats to see the mantas but the Barefoot Manta crew were educated and respectful. The resort is beautiful and has a lovely vibe, the staff were so friendly and helpful. We stayed in a double Bure on the sunset side, it was a permanent tent and it was all that we could have wished for, right on the beach. The meal plan is really expensive by our standards, I would have preferred an al a carte option as I have food restrictions and I found that eating salad and rice for almost every meal was boring and repetitive. The staff did try though, however $40 Fijian for salad and rice was a bit on the nose. Bring snacks! It would have been good if they could have made the tea/coffee available all day and maybe had something available for afternoon tea as it is 6 hrs between lunch and dinner. We do recommend this place.
Xanadu, the sea view is superb. The food is good, suitable for relaxing yourself. The beach is great, the sand is round and doesn't cut your feet. The menu changes every day. It is rare for Chinese people to communicate in English. UnionPay does not support it. The Internet is only available in the restaurant and it is not reliable, but the wifi in their office is good and can be used in emergencies. On the island, you can email them to pick them up, or take the South China Sea cruise ship
It takes about 4 hours to arrive by boat. It is a very arduous journey. Friends who are seasick should be careful. This island is very primitive and has a very quiet environment. Because it is in the harbor with calm waves, it is very suitable for snorkeling. The room environment is good, one person has a small villa, be careful to prevent mosquitoes, and the room has a small activity area, which is not bad. Meals are average, and some require additional payment, especially breakfast. In short, this hotel is the most cost-effective on Yasawa Island and is suitable for those who like a quiet vacation. Watch out for geckos!
Best food I had in Fiji! Kind and genuine staff. Only point of feedback is regular plastic cleanup of the beach and surrounding area is required. Protect that fantastic reef out front!
The sea is very beautiful. This island is far away but worth it. There are many fish when snorkeling, and the water is as clear as jelly.
Facilities: The room is quite large, and the two large sofas are very comfortable to lie on. There are refrigerators, coffee machines, and kettles. The open-air shower is very refreshing, highly recommended! There are air conditioners and fans, and it won't be hot at noon. The two bedrooms have independent doors, and you won't disturb your companions when you go in and out.
Environment: A relatively primitive route with many plants. The small yard is very comfortable to blow the wind and drink at night. Although I booked a garden view room, I can walk to the beach in about a minute.
Service: The service is very enthusiastic! The reservation on the first day was wrong. I thought there were six of us, so I divided four small beds for us. After I told him, I helped us put them together into a big bed. Someone cleaned every day. When I left, I sang a farewell song for us.
There are two restaurants, one of which is Japanese cuisine, and omakase has a lot of seafood. The food is good, better than the Sheraton on the main island!

Excellent spot! We stayed in a reasonable room which had a shared bathroom (shared with the other private rooms and the dorms) but this was always very clean and you never had to wait for a toilet or shower! Incredible service and the food (especially the Japanese) was the best we had across all our different Fijian resorts! The 10 course Japanese dinner is an absolute must! The snorkelling was also great there and they also had paddle boards and an inflatable slide which was good fun! Nice views from the hill walk too! Highly recommend!
Amazing and beautiful place to stay. The Staff are extremely helpful and kind. The price is reasonable as well. There are a lot of activities that you want to try. Some of them are free, which is good. I really enjoyed staying there. Vinaka!
Best food I had in Fiji! Kind and genuine staff. Only point of feedback is regular plastic cleanup of the beach and surrounding area is required. Protect that fantastic reef out front!
We were blessed with great weather and had the ocean almost to ourselves, making for the ultimate relaxing holiday! We even saw turtles today, so it was a fulfilling day. Even though we had no plans and didn't do anything, it was the perfect place! The food was delicious, and the beds were comfortable. The only drawback was that there wasn't enough snorkel gear and all the fins were a bit too big, I guess?
