Holiday Inn Express Hull City Centre
4.5/5130 Reviews
First trip to Hull and Humberside. Hotel was very central and we walked everywhere from it. Had considered the one down at the marina but there were road works all over Hull and was very difficult to get into if you didn't know the area. we spent most of our time down at the marina in the evenings but only a short 15 minute walk away and Hull is very easy to walk around. Room and bathroom were comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was included and was a delicious buffet with cooked options. Parking was very easy in the attached multistory for which there is a discount via the hotel which worked well in terms of logistics of leaving the car park and was £7 a day which was acceptable for the city centre. Just drive into the multi story and the staff do the rest by adding it to the bill and enabling your exit from the barrier . All staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. Really nice place to stay.
Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel

Met by friendly and courteous staff at reception. Room was clean, and View was nice from the room. The shower was terrible! Luke warm at the hottest temperature and freezing when you turned the temperature any other way. We ordered food from the qr code for room service because my daughter wasn’t feeling very well, but waited over an hour and it never came. I tried to ring down for about 20 mins but no one answered the phone. I went down to reception and spoke to the lady who was very apologetic and explained that the app never works, if this is the case perhaps the hotel should remove the codes from the room and replace with a traditional room service menu instead! The lady on reception did all she could to rectify the problem and seemed to be used to this happening. Unfortunately because I had to wait so long for room service( was just meant to be a snack) I missed out on using the facilities so can’t really comment but they did look good . Breakfast was fantastic I have to say, well cooked and lots of choice, serve yourself which I enjoyed.
Hideout Hotel

This hotel apartment is probably the best place we’ve ever stayed in! The apartment is spacious, clean, modern, and it included all the little things you may need. The location is also perfect as it is within walking distance to the market (just below), museums, local restaurants, shops, and shopping centers. Since I have family living in Hull, it was very convenient for everyone to visit us; they would just park in the parking garage across the road and walk a few minutes to our apartment. The hosts are super sweet, communicative, friendly, and extremely helpful. We had a wee issue with the hot water on our first night, and they took care of it immediately, resolved the problem, and followed up with us. Finally, I must admit when I saw the ear plugs placed on our bed, I did worry a little. However, the ringing of the church bells next door did NOT bother any of us at all! It was actually quite beautiful and soothing. Never used the ear plugs once! We will definitely stay at the HIDEOUT again when we return to Hull! (I may have cried a little when we left for London to stay in a regular hotel, LOL!)
Kingstown Hotel by Greene King Inns

I was just disappointed of the initial checkin as I got in my room my request was never made. Very simple. I ask the 2 single beds to be combined to make it bigger. But nope. The late checkouts despite of willing to pay extra was just as it is. I could pay an extra night if I have to if they said so but no. We were from night shift of work and finished at 7 am that we got to the hotel at 7:30 and after breakfast few minutes of rest then we slept off. We got a call at 11 telling us about the checkout and told them I have already asked for the late checkout for extra charges but its only for 2 hours. Nothing more. The attendant started banging the door telling us to checkout as she needed to changed the sheets and so on and so for. We find it really rude.
Cave Castle Hotel

Wonderful experience stay at that castle. We had dinner in the courtyard for a very reasonable price consider the food was of great quality. The health club had great facilities including a reasonable sized gym decent sized pool / jacuzzi. We would definitely stay there again as the location was great. The only minor complaint we would have is that the room was a bit cold but it is late January.

It very quiet time due to lock down but the staff there were very helpful and pleasant. The hotel was very clean with all the right resources in place to ensure social distancing and hand sanitisation. Was impressed
Gilson Hotel

Unsure where to even start, terrible room all round. I can honestly say I've stayed in cleaner, more comfortable hostels. The bed was an old basic divan and the mattress was no better than a 4 inch thick sofa cushion. Think Argos budget line. The room was very cold and the radiator didn't work but they had kindly supplied a filthy plug in oil heater which wasn't much use due to the size of the room and the only plug sockets being at the opposite end to the bed. Ended up moving the bed to the other end of the room to be near the heater. There was also a dirty fan for the warmer months to make up for the lack of air conditioning. The power switched off at some point in the night and had to be restarted with the room key card so the room was cold again on waking. Bathroom fittings were dated and rusty with rust stains down the walls in places and the bathwater was lukewarm on the highest temperature setting. Quickest bath of my life as the cold room made the tepid water cold in the time it took to wash my hair. The light above the bathroom mirror was cracked and repaired with sellotape. Not much of a problem but the TV was tiny and touching the ceiling so very uncomfortable to watch. Dirty skirting boards and splashes up the walls in places, dust bunnies under the bed, hairy taps, one hanger in the wardrobe, paint on the curtains and to top it all off no spoon to stir the tea and coffee with. The room in general was shabby and tired and doesn't look to have been updated in many years. The only saving graces were the proximity to the station, free WiFi and clean sheets.

Campanile Hull

I thought I would take some time to write an honest review for this place after seeing and hearing so many negative things. So this hotel is very basic, but it is clean & tidy and has everything you need for a short stay. The rooms are of a decent size with comfy beds, Tv, Hair Dryer, Kettle & Tea, Coffee and milk supplies. You also get a couple of towels but if you ask at reception if you need anything else they are lovely and happy to accommodate to your needs. The lady who was on reception at the time of our one night stay was lovely, she got us extra pillows, gave us a phone charger to borrow and we sat and had a drink in the reception bar. There was no food service at this time due to staff shortages but that didn’t affect our stay as we went out for an evening meal and breakfast the next day. The grounds are quiet, we didn’t hear a thing throughout the night. They have CCTV everywhere and this is monitored by the reception staff as well as a night porter so you do feel very safe here despite the numerous reviews I’ve read about **********s and things. Overall I booked a cheap and cheerful place to stay for one night and this is what we got. It’s in a good location with easy walking distance to many shops, bars and restaurants. We would definitely stay again.
Humber Lofts Apartments

Bad: The towels provided were pretty small. Quite a few marks and scuffs around on walls and furniture. Unclear where to collect door card from, went from the car park to the room, back down to 'reception' and back to the room. Quite a few messages back and forth before check in and forms to complete. No information about when you can enter and leave the car park. Had a few problems with the website and entering information and making payments. Was just an added stress when attending for a funeral unfortunately. Would have been nice to have some fresh milk and more coffee. (But then again I do have a 2 month old!) Didn't have access to use the online key card until 3pm unfortunately, so had to get the cards. Coasters would be great, as the coffee table is glass and I was worried about putting down mugs and glasses. The room was lovely and a great size. Lovely little touches made it a comfortable stay. Large mirrors, plenty or storage, dining table and kitchen. Very large and comfortable bed. Blackout curtains were amazing! Lovely to have netflix etc on the TV. Easy to order deliveroo too!
