The hotel is in a good location near the centre with good transpprt links to Piccadilly, the reception and breakfast areas are nice and spacious and therr's room to chill as well, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The room is comfy and clean, the shower is spacious and the bed is soft and there's a nice tv as well. Internet is very fast. The breakfsst is also tasty and plentiful and it's only £ 8. It was a pleasant stay for a budget hotel, I would recommend it.
Good place to stay for easy access to airport and travel links lukebtrain, trams and bus. Good food, especially breakfast. They have breakfast foods available for those who are leaving to catch early flights as well.
The place can be somewhat dusty and not good for those with dust allergies or asthma.
Had booked the accessible room which is nice and big. The only issue is that its far away from the main lifts and the carpet is a pain to drag wheels on.

Plus: under 10 minute walk to Manchester Piccadilly train station. Convenient location with bus stops right outside the hotel. Check in was really easy. Outside of hotel looks right out of an old movie, really pretty — plus the corridor on entry. See attached photos.
Cons: the room is dated, expected for an old hotel. You get what you pay for I guess. The most terrible thing was the extra blanket they provided smelled really bad - like a wet carpet or dog that has dried up on its own and retained that most terrible smell. I slept without the blanket and chose to get cold rather because of that smell.
The location of this hotel isnt bad as there are good transport links a few minutes walk down the road. The man who checked us in seemed in a mood and was mumbling the whole time we spoke so we had to spend 10 minutes trying to locate our room as we couldn't understand his directions. The windowsill was CAKED in dust looks like it has never been cleaned, as well as the bathroom floor which was also covered in dust build up. There was a large peeling brown patch in part of the wallpaper seam. I don't know what the duvet covers are made of but before we had even gotten in the bed the material was falling apart and leaving small white particles all over us, our clothes and the entire room. It was alright for a crash pad for the night after a gig but I would never want to stay here again especially not for more than one night. On a good note, the lady who checked us out was very friendly and well spoken.

During my recent stay, I was extremely dissatisfied with the service I received from the hotel's front desk.
Firstly, upon check-in, despite a long queue of guests, only one counter was open. Although another counter eventually opened, when I was first in line, a staff member who appeared to be of Chinese descent refused to assist me and told me to rejoin the queue at the new counter. Instead, she prioritized a Caucasian guest who had just arrived. This discriminatory treatment made me feel very uncomfortable and disrespected.
Secondly, later that evening, when I returned to the hotel to inquire about WiFi connectivity, I was assisted by another male staff member, also of Chinese descent. Throughout our conversation, he was noticeably impatient, spoke in a cold tone, and his voice was so low that it was difficult to hear him, forcing us to repeatedly ask him to repeat himself. My friend and I were speaking in Chinese during this time, and he clearly understood us, yet he offered no assistance. Instead, he repeatedly and impatiently asked us in English, 'Do you speak English?' This attitude was extremely disappointing and severely impacted my overall experience.
I arrived late at night and was delighted to find the reception still open, with staff greeting me warmly. For the price, the room was very spacious, complete with a desk, sofa, and large bed. The pillow was soft and comfortable, making for a restful stay.
What stood out the most was the quality of the toiletries. They use a well-known brand for hand wash, body wash, and shampoo, which felt gentle on the skin and hair, unlike the low-quality products often found in other hotels.
The breakfast buffet was adequate, though as a Muslim I couldn’t eat some of the options. However, when I asked, the catering team kindly prepared a vegan sausage for me, which I really appreciated.
The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly. At night, dragging my luggage, it felt longer, but in the morning it was just a brisk, pleasant walk.

I booked two rooms and specifically requested high-floor rooms beforehand. During check-in, the first front desk agent had a noticeably lukewarm attitude. It took a long time for them to find my reservation, and it was quite a hassle to get one room sorted, and it was on a low floor. Then, the second front desk agent helped us check into the other room; their attitude was much better, and they gave us a high-floor room. We paid a £10 deposit upon check-in.
The hotel's location and environment are good. There's a small river behind it, and it's a very short walk from Piccadilly Station, just around one corner. It's also within walking distance of the main attractions and shopping areas in the city center. We booked a suite, which was quite spacious. It came with toiletries, slippers, and a small balcony. Breakfast was semi-buffet style; you could order one hot dish, and then help yourself to bread, cereal, fruit, etc. Everything was fine, except for the first front desk agent.
Stayed here for match day, within walking distance to Old Trafford. Room was clean and bed was surprisingly comfortable. Not many amenities given and the shower was tiny though.

So no issues with the staff down at the reception area at all, doing a smashing job representing the hotel, telling us about the app too upon arrival... check in the hotel earlier with app very cool, very nice, also the reception area is where the big bosses of this hotel choose to spend most of their budget as when you get to the rooms it does show.
Cleaning staff - now what are they doing? Because they certainly aren't cleaning the rooms, the room was the dirtiest room I've ever stayed in, windows, bed, bathroom, carpets, i know its a budget hotel but basic levels of hygiene and cleaniness should be a must in a hotel, ive stayed in cheaper hotels and they were cleaner!
Needs a refurb in the rooms and big recruitment drive for cleaning staff.
Me and my partner had to make the bed before sleeping because we couldn't stomach sleeping on it because of how it was.
Area is very loud, traffic, horns beeping, people shouting.
On a positive note I did like the shower in the bathroom, the water pressure was excellent and it is in a brilliant location attending gigs and festivals in the area.
My mom and I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. The location is perfect, which is actually in the city center. It is close to Victoria train station, Piccadilly station, tram and Piccadilly garden bus station. So you can go everywhere in an easy way.
The room is clean, comfortable, warm and quiet, with hot water and high speed free wifi. The reception staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed quite an amazing journey here.

Great
It was conveniently located near the train station, and accessible on foot to all the terminals at Manchester airport. The staff were friendly, and our check in was smooth. The rooms were spacious and clean with a modern touch, and I loved the big windows, providing ample natural light. Very comfortable beddings, and they had accessible rooms. Each room had a Nespresso machine w 1 pod, a kettle, a hairdryer and even a garment steamer. Overall a great hotel, highly recommend.
Great location, peaceful sleep, perfect soundproof. Everything about Britannia is awesome. I will definitely stay again each time I have early morning flight.
Rooms are very nice, beds are comfortable. There is also a small gym in the property! Location is perfect. Also, lots of amenities nearby. My friends and I stayed at a two-bedroom apartment. Perfect size to fit a family of four! Thank you!
The hotel was great. Looked amazing and the staff were very helpful. Location was a quick 10 minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly and very central to amenities. Cleaner could have swept the bathroom a little better, however that did not take too much away from how amazing the room was. The queen bed was massive and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was good too. Oh and the cocktails were pretty and delicious.
Excellent location to the right of main station Dammtor fantastic panoramic views of the city from the Two Six 26th floor roof top bar & restuarant, plus the Planten Bloomen stunning green space right in the centre of Hamburg ,10 metres out of the front entrance of this hotel ,walked miles through to St Michaels church, the 88 million pound Philharmonic building and the Nicolai ruins..all made special by this iconic Radisson Blu Hotel
Hotel was fine, room clean. Reading reviews after booking was really worried but all was OK. Travelled with young child. Had time show ID and child ID too. Lovely idea to put heater and fan in room to make more comfortable. Not sure if they upgraded us or not as got a better room than booked. All in all excellent location and value for money
I recently stayed at the Britannia Hotel in Manchester and wanted to share my thoughts. Location: The location is definitely one of the hotel’s strongest points. It’s super accessible to all forms of transport, whether you’re arriving by train, bus, or tram. It’s right in the city center, so you can easily explore Manchester without much hassle. Parking: The parking arrangement is convenient if you’re driving, especially with free parking between 8 pm and 8 am. Outside of those hours, you’ll need to pay, so keep that in mind if you’re staying for longer stretches. Hotel Condition: This is where the hotel shows its age. The building is very old, and while it has some charm, it could definitely use an upgrade. You can feel the wear and tear in the common areas and some of the rooms. Rooms: The rooms are a mixed bag. The basic rooms are just that—basic. They’re not particularly comfortable, and if you’re picky about where you sleep, you might feel underwhelmed. However, if you go for one of the upgraded rooms, the experience is much better. Those rooms feel cleaner and more inviting. Breakfast: Breakfast is a solid deal at just £9. It’s not a luxury spread, but it gets the job done. You’ll find the usual options for a budget-friendly hotel breakfast. Staff: The staff are a highlight of the hotel. They’re very kind and helpful, making you feel welcome from check-in to check-out. Value for Money: Overall, this is a budget-friendly hotel, so you do get what you pay for. If you’re looking for a no-frills place to stay in a central location and don’t mind the dated vibe, it works. However, if comfort and modern amenities are a priority, you might want to explore other
