"A hotel I absolutely adore, perfect for a vacation. The three-bedroom apartment features 3 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, and 2 bathrooms, with one en-suite bedroom. The living room has large balconies on both sides; one faces Lake Taupo directly, while the other overlooks the hotel's thermal pool. Restaurant: The buffet breakfast includes a buffet spread and a la carte main courses. The buffet selection itself is already very rich."

"Enjoyed my one night stay on a Thursday night in October. Room - Superior Queen #110. $92 nzd. Pros -Cheap -Comfy mattress -Great location -Clean -Spacious room and bathroom -Heat pump which was on when i arrived which kept the room at a comfy temp. -Kind front desk woman on arrival. -Old world architecture. Cons -Noisy heat pump (albeit grateful there was one) -No sound insulation so can hear footsteps easily. -Bed was 2 x singles pushed together and had to sleep either side of the gap. Tip - book a superior room type. It's my experience these are better quality. When you book the lead in room category (deluxe) they're cheaper for a reason. I would return but not on a Friday or Saturday as the sound of the street noise and night clubs would be heard easily. Thanks for a nice stay."

"Love the location just awesome! Right on the lake and you can walk out your door directly onto it and Sit outside on a table and admire the view! Restaurant was nice just a shame the fireplace is gas nothing like a real wood fire when it's Winter! Parking was fine and easy, so good they have a heated pool as it would be useless in Winter, they also have the Sauna which is great it just such a shame the grotto is out of order and was told it has been that way for a while. Something like that should be sorted at a last resort just rebuild it if it cannot be fixed customers expect it Bathroom was good with a nice big spa bath and this is by far the best bed we have ever slept in. It is huge! You could fix 6 people in it if haha!"

"We stayed one night en route to Hobbiton and liked it so much that we stayed another 2 later in our trip. Great location, and Cambridge is a relatively easy base to get to other places from. Beautiful decor throughout, nice finishings and really peaceful. It was very busy during our stay (around Christmas/NY) so a little wait for food/drinks but that’s to be expected. We had positive interactions with all hotel and restaurant staff. My only feedback is that the switches in the rooms have blue lights on them, which, for people that like a black-out room, can disrupt sleep. Hopefully an easy fix!"

"The room we received was nothing like the room advertised on your website. We made our booking through *********** based on the photographs, which portrayed a modern, clean, stylish, and well-maintained room. Unfortunately, the reality was completely different. Instead of the fresh, contemporary room shown in the photos, we were given a room that felt old, tired, and poorly maintained. The flooring was covered with worn, old carpets and rugs rather than the clean, modern finishes we expected. The furnishings were dated, the overall appearance was shabby, and the room looked as though it had not been renovated in many years. It felt unclean and lacked the standard of comfort and quality that your promotional images suggested. To make matters worse, the fan in Room 412 was not working, making the room uncomfortable. Throughout the night, every time someone walked along the corridor, the old wooden floorboards creaked loudly, disturbing our sleep. These maintenance issues significantly affected our comfort and overall experience. To be completely honest, the condition of the room reminded us more of emergency housing than accommodation offered by a hotel with your name and reputation. The difference between what was advertised and what we actually received was shocking. We specifically chose your hotel because of the high-quality images displayed on ***********. Those images created an expectation of a premium experience, but the room we received fell far short of that expectation. Had the room been accurately represented, we would have made a different booking decision."

"The front desk staff were very clear about the room's location and driving directions, even circling it on a map for us. They also turned on the AC/heating before we checked in, which was a very thoughtful touch. We received cookies and milk upon arrival. The room floor wasn't very clean, but the bedding was spotless. The room description stated a 1.51m wide bed when I booked, but it wasn't that wide in reality. The restaurant's food was delicious and the service was excellent. Although it's close to the airport, it's not noisy at all; I didn't hear any airplane noise after checking in."

"The location was close to Lake Taupo. Minutes away from stores. Would recommend. Good bang for buck. Wish there was only a hair dryer included!"

"My stay at Alcamo Motel was overall pleasant. The staff were friendly and the check-in and check-out process was smooth. The location is convenient, close to the city center of Hamilton, with plenty of parking available. However, the facilities felt a bit outdated, which was slightly disappointing. With some renovations, this place could definitely attract even more guests. Overall, a decent stay for the price."

"Wow! We go upgraded to two bedroom apartment which was really handy since it has washer/dryer plus air conditioning in both bedrooms and open plan living area. Very clean and modern apartment with good appliances (Bosch cooktop, oven, dishwasher, washer and dryer). The apartment is sound proofed. They also have 4 varieties of Zealong Tea Estate teas along with the Zealong cups plus coffee pods. The hotel is next to the lake and shops so it’s quite convenient. My only issue is that outside of night time sleeping hours, the air conditioner would turn off by itself after a few minutes. Other than that, I really enjoyed staying at this hotel and would recommend it to others."

"The hotel is in a great central location, making it super easy to get to all the attractions we wanted to visit. The breakfast was really good too, and I appreciated that it was served a bit longer than other hotels, until 11 AM. Plus, there are tons of restaurants nearby, both Chinese and Western, which was very convenient."
