Arita Porcelain Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
A gorgeous place for cosplay photos >.<
The Arita Porcelain Park is a small park located in Arita town, Saga Prefecture, Japan. It is a recreation of a traditional German village, and is located just on the outskirts of Arita on the road to Hasami. Unfortunately, Covid outbreak made the theme park looking more lonely and gloomy. Nevertheless, it is still a beautiful park and good for photography. The park has a studio where visitors can try making procelain, even for kids. And it was my first time seeing such a special stepwise kiln.

Slow life, a ceramics in the town of Arita-cho, a day of ceramics,
Saga, is a famous Japanese Arita-producing place. The burning of Japan is the meaning of ceramics. In Japan, there are Mitsuto, Arita and so on. Arita is the most representative ceramic in Japan, and enjoys high reputation in Japan and also represents traditional Japanese ceramics. After I came back, I checked and said that the world's three major ceramics, one is China's Jingdezhen, one is German porcelain, and one is Japan's Arita.
Miss Guo's 100 City Travel Plan||The 2nd 6 Japan Saga||This caf in Japan can choose the cup to drink coffee
because I like Japanese crafts in Japan During the trip to Saga, I have time to go to the famous ceramics in Arita-cho, Japan, to buy the beautiful Arita-fired ceramics.
There is a restaurant in Arita-cho that can drink coffee and eat a light meal. You can also enjoy a lot of cafes called Arita Gallerie.
In the glass window of the store, there are more than 2,000 ceramic cups of different styles and colors, which are all burned by the boss himself. If you have coffee at this store, you can choose one of your favorite cups for coffee. The prices of the cups range from a few thousand yen to tens of thousands of yen. There is a small secret, generally more expensive cups are placed in the higher window, or behind the cashier clerk. If you like a cup, you can buy it home

Zwinger Palace
Address: Toya, Arita, Nishimatsuura District, Saga 844-0014, Japan
Highlights: The Zwinger Palace is located inside the Arita Porcelain Park. It is a a full-size reconstruction of Germany's Zwinger Palace, which is a spectacular example of German baroque architecture.
There is a paid porcelain museum in its right wing. Like Arita, Dresden is famous for its local porcelain, Meissen Porcelain, produced not far from the city.
The displays inside the palace and park provide insight into the influence of Arita porcelain on European designs. In the park grounds there is a studio where visitors can try making porcelain, and tours of a sake, shochu (Japanese liquor), and beer brewery.
Opening hours: 10am to 4pm daily.
Admission fees: 600 yen. Slightly pricey but definitely worth it in my opinion! 🥰🙈

The Peaceful Arita Town
Getting there: You may take limited express trains from Fukuoka's Hakata Station to Arita Station. The journey will take around 90minutes.
Highlights: Arita is a small town in western Saga that is famous throughout Japan for its pottery, known as Arita-yaki.
The history of Arita-yaki dates back about 400 years, when Toyotomi Hideyoshi attempted to invade Korea and brought back several highly skilled Korean craftsmen to Japan. In 1616, one of these craftsmen discovered kaolin - the mineral required to make porcelain - at the site which later became the Izumiyama Quarry. Consequently, Arita became the first place in Japan to produce porcelain.

The Kyushu Ceramic Museum Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Kyushu Ceramic Museum
Address: Otsu-3100-1 Toshaku, Arita, Nishimatsuura District, Saga 844-8585, Japan
Highlights: I would say the Kyushu Ceramic Museum is the best museum in Arita. It provides a huge range of displays and information. The museum covers the history of ceramics on all of Kyushu, not just Arita. On an outer wall of the building are 25 large ceramic bells given to the museum by the German city of Meissen, the sister city of the town of Arita.
One shortsides is that most of the information is provided in Japanese so might need some translation.

Arita Annual Pottery Festival Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Yesterday morning~
Yesterday is a day of infiltration in the Arita-yaki ceramic world in Japan~
After eating Arita-Curry rice in Arita Ceramics Center, you can take the bowl away and drink coffee ash in Arita-style cafe. I chose a good cup to hold coffee, 2000 cups, and I chose a half-hour for Libra. .
(You can take the bowl after eating,
coffee can choose your own cup,
these two ideas are really amazing!!)
Sueyama Shinto Shrine. Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Sueyama Shrine
Address: 2 Chome-5-1 Odaru, Arita, Nishimatsuura District, Saga 844-0004, Japan
Getting there: You can have a short walk from Kami-Arita Station on the JR Sasebo Line. There is also a small free parking lot just down from the main entrance if you are driving.
Highlights: The Sueyama Shrine is one of the shrine's most iconic feature. The shrine was built in the mid 1600s and is dedicated to one of the most influential of the Korean potters who introduced porcelain making to Arita. The shrine is unique for having both a torii gate and statues of komainu guardian dogs made out of porcelain. That is really an incredible architecture. 🤩
