Cappadocia Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Captivating Cappadocia
Cappadocia, located in central Turkey, is a surreal landscape famous for its unique rock formations known as fairy chimneys, ancient cave dwellings, and the enchanting spectacle of hot air balloons dotting the early morning skies. This region offers a blend of natural wonders, historical depth, and cultural richness that captivates travelers from around the world.
A hot air balloon ride at sunrise is an essential Cappadocia experience. Floating gently over the valleys, you'll witness a breathtaking panorama of the undulating terrain and the conical fairy chimneys below. This magical moment provides not only spectacular photo opportunities but also a profound sense of peace and wonder.
Exploring the ground level is just as rewarding. The Göreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage site, showcases a complex of medieval painted cave churches that illustrate the spiritual and artistic heritage of Byzantine monks. Venturing into the underground cities like Derinkuyu offers a glimpse into ancient defensive settlements that could house thousands during times of siege.
For those visiting, it’s advisable to wear comfortable hiking shoes as the terrain can be rocky and uneven. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit due to the mild weather, allowing for full days of exploration without the intense heat of summer.
Dining in Cappadocia also offers a taste of local Turkish cuisine with specialties such as testi kebab (meat and vegetables cooked in a clay pot) and the sweet pastry, baklava. Staying in one of the region's cave hotels provides not just comfort but a unique immersive experience into the historical lifestyle of the area.
Cappadocia is a place where every dawn brings a spectacle and every corner tells a story, making it a truly mesmerizing destination for adventurers and cultural enthusiasts alike.

Goreme Town Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Incredible sunrise in Cappadocia
This morning was one of the most magical in my life. I woke up at 4 a.m., opened the window and listened to the sounds outside. It seems quiet… When suddenly the sounds of popping and gas burners began to be heard in the distance - and I realized that it was time to hurry!
Just an hour later, I was standing on top of a mountain in the city of Goreme and watched the sky fill with dozens and hundreds of balloons. God, am I really seeing this with my own eyes? To this day, when I remember this feeling, I get goosebumps 😍

Missing Cappadocia so much!
Cappadocia was such a lovely place! Beautiful scenery and weather mashaAllah. I’d go again and again, and hope I could afford to ride the hot air balloon 🎈 next time 🤣
Goreme
Göreme is a village of around 2,000 people in Nevşehir province in Central Anatolia. It is well known for its ''fairy chimneys', rock formations, many of which were hollowed out in the Middle Ages to create houses, churches and 'underground cities'. Göreme was formerly known as Korama, Matiana, Macan and Avcilar.
Cappadocia, Turkey
Cappadocia (known as Kapadokya in ancient Turkish) is famous for its unique landscape, characterized by its extraordinary rock formations, cave dwellings, and the historical remnants of a semi-troglodyte population. Its 'fairy chimneys' are as renowned as the country's Pamukkale, both holding the title of a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site, with the former being listed three years earlier than the latter. In addition to highlights such as the Göreme Valley and the Ihlara Canyon, visitors can also explore some astonishing underground cities. From hot air balloon rides offering panoramic views of the mushroom-shaped houses scattered across the hills, to visiting local pigeon house residences, and staying in a five-star cave hotel, these experiences are unparalleled in any other Arab city.

Rose Valley Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Horse riding thru’ Goreme’s stunning valleys
Come explore the unique yet raw landscapes of Cappadocia when you get into a horseback and ride through the region’s stunning and picturesque valleys. I had a two-hour experience on these beautiful horses and my guide provided me very clear crash course on how to ride a horse. And there we rode! Along the ups and downs of the valleys, you would get to see visitors hiking and a small cafe at the bottom of a little hill. Up the hill, there is a little church which was partially destroyed but still kept in good shape for visitors to tour. This experience is ought to be tried. I encourage everyone to go for it!#turkey #cappadocia #horseriding

The sunsets here are simply one of the best in the world. Rocks are seen as pink and very romantic. The canyon is very big, you need to go uphill and downhill, and you can't finish it in three hours. You need to prepare water and food, and when you reach the top of the mountain, you can rest, watch the sunset, and chat with friends. When going down the mountain, you can take a taxi down the mountain at the next station, about eight dollars
