2024 Chatuchak Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in December)
🇹🇭 Pets section
Chatuchak market for pets
The live section of pets is still open at Chatuchat market. You will be able to buy many pets accessories over here. It is much cheaper but if your item is too big then you may have difficulties with your luggage allowance. Yes, you also can buy animals from the market too. You can buy live feed for your carnivorous pets too. But I like to play with their cute doggies at the market. It is easy to buy a pet off the shelf but please think it thoroughly before you commit yourself to be a pet owner.
It is always fun to shop at Chatukchak but please do not buy what you don’t need.

Another of BKKs wonderful night markets. This kicks off from 6pm and it is lively and full of people. A good mix of locals and expats/tourists. Tons of food/drinks/snacks. Clothes sellers, electronics. You name it and it's here.
Easily accessible from MTR and BTS. One of the must visits in the city

Chatuchak market has 3 entrances. At each of them you can see a huge map of the market translated into English. In addition, we recommend you ask for a free map at the information point at entrance number 3. It will be especially useful if you are looking for something specific, although in the apparent chaos there is a certain order and the geometric distribution of the aisles makes it difficult to get lost.
In the market you will also find numerous food and drink stalls, and it is possible to sample some of the less attractive specimens of tropical fauna. If you've ever fancied tasting some larvae or a scorpion, Chatuchak Market is the place to make your dreams come true.
The best way to get to the market is by public transport - the market itself is served by both metro and Skytrain. Taxis take a little longer and are more expensive, as the market is a bit farther from the centre.

Location: Roof24 Coffee&Bar, Chatuchak, Bangkok
Atmosphere: This charming café is located on the 4th floor, requiring a climb up the stairs if there's no elevator. Consider it a bit of exercise, but the effort is worth it once you reach the top. The view is stunning, offering a clear sight of the Elephant Tower like never before. The drinks are delicious too. Highly recommended.

Chatuchak Market, located in Bangkok, Thailand, is one of the largest markets in the world. Visiting this market is an unforgettable experience. The market spans over 35 acres and houses thousands of stalls. Each stall offers a unique array of products, from clothes to handicrafts, food to pets. The vibrant atmosphere captivates visitors and locals alike.
As I entered the market, I was immediately struck by the sheer size of it. The bustling crowd created an energetic vibe. People from all walks of life wandered through the maze of stalls. The air was filled with the sounds of haggling, laughter, and the tempting aroma of street food. It was a feast for the senses.
I started my exploration by browsing through the clothing section. Colorful garments hung from every stall. I found trendy outfits at affordable prices. The vendors were friendly and eager to help. They encouraged me to try on clothes and offered discounts. This interaction made shopping enjoyable and engaging.
Next, I ventured into the section dedicated to handicrafts. Here, artisans displayed their handmade products. I admired intricate jewelry, beautiful pottery, and delicate textiles. Each item told a story of Thai culture and craftsmanship. I felt a sense of appreciation for the skill and creativity that went into each piece.
Food was another significant aspect of my visit. The market offered a variety of Thai dishes. I sampled delicious street food, such as pad Thai and mango sticky rice. The flavors were rich and authentic. Eating amidst the lively atmosphere added to the experience. I enjoyed watching the cooks prepare food in front of me, showcasing their culinary talents.
As I walked through the market, I also encountered a section for pets. Many stalls featured adorable puppies and kittens for sale. Animal lovers gathered around, playing with the furry creatures. It was heartwarming to see families considering new pets. The joy and excitement were palpable.
After hours of exploring, I felt a sense of accomplishment. I had navigated the market and discovered hidden gems. I bought unique souvenirs to remember my visit. The experience was not just about shopping; it was about immersing myself in the vibrant culture of Thailand.
In conclusion, Chatuchak Market is a must-visit destination in Bangkok. The combination of shopping, food, and cultural experiences creates a lively atmosphere. Each visit offers something new and exciting. My time at the market was filled with joy, discovery, and a deeper appreciation for Thai culture. I left with memories that will last a lifetime.
Chatuchak Weekend Market, with over 15k stalls
This is one massive market with over 15,000 stalls offering various types of souvenirs, massages and goods, from antiques, food and mostly clothings!
You will definitely need 2 days to go through these stalls. It will take about 3 hours if you are rushing for time. Bring a portable fan as it will get hot in here.
Address:
587, 10 Kamphaeng Phet 2 Rd, Khwaeng Chatuchak, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900, Thailand
We took a Grab there and aligted at Gate 3. The market is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Being Asians, it's expected that we'll bargain when buying something at a market – and Chatuchak is no exception. Don't be afraid to haggle a bit – it's all part of the fun but some sellers will stand firm on their pricing.

กาแฟพรีเมียมย่าน เกษตร-นวมินทร์
Dao Coffee and Specialty Roastery

#tripblazers nice shopping center to stay on weekends love it!
Wholesale Apparel Street
Kamphaeng Phet 2 Rd, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900, Thailand
Chatuchak has been famous for its big shopping paradise. You can take a BTS train, alight at mo chit station. There is an apparel street whereby all clothes for all ages were placed there. We were fascinated by the amazing low prices of 69 baht for a printed shirt. It was even less than 3 dollars in Singapore. It was really a great deal. The quality was decent, as we can't expect much for the price. If you are buying in bulk, they will further offer you a better price. There were kids clothes too.
Chatuchak is definitely a must visit place if you are planning to come to Bangkok. Do come in the fall season as the weather is much cooling, and there would be sales ongoing.

Animal Paradise at Chatuchak
Chatuchak is a well known weekend market shopping paradise. The weekend market is as big as 24 football fields. There are thousands of shops selling various things. The weekend market is divided into 24 sections where each section sells a specialised item. For instance, one section is for furniture, one is for animals and pets retail, another is for arts painting handcraft, one for household appliances, and the other is for apparel. As the temperatures are scorching hot in the afternoon, please bring along a portable fan and an umbrella along. I personally recommend visiting the weekend market at 1pm local timing till 5pm. The nearest BTS is mo chit BTS station.
There are few shops selling drinks and snacks along the way. There are only 2 toilets in the big weekend market. Be sure to go to the toilet before coming. If you need to go to the mall, the nearest woukd be the JJ mall where you can have lunch and dinner at the food court.

Hidden cafe
Address - Kamphaeng Phet 2 Road, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900, Thailand
We found this hidden cafe in the shopping night market as it was quite a small and narrow one. It couldn’t really fit many people but the decor was so different and had a European flair to it. It looked very appealing so we decided to try the milk tea.
The owner had a lot of flair when pouring our milk tea out, plus he was really friendly too. With a sprinkle of gold dust over the drink to top it off, he presented us our drink! It tasted pretty good.
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🇹🇭 Chatuchak Market
Chatuchak market is open even after the pandemic. However, it is not so crowded as before and some of the shops are vacant. But overall, still a good place to visit and chill out. Most of the shops congregate on the outer streets, which is better for ventilation and also plenty of walking space. You still can find good bargains and worth a half day trip tp Chatuchak. Usually, I will take BTS and alight at Mo Chit BTS and walk over. There is also another way which is taking the metro to Metro Kamphaeng Phet. Both ways will lead you to Chatuchak market.
