Trekking Day At Doi Inthanon National Park (Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail) ⛰️🍃
#hikingtrails
Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail is a must-do hiking and trekking trail not to be missed by nature lovers. It is located inside the area of Doi Inthanon National Park, home to Thailand’s highest peak.
Doi Inthanon is one of the most popular national parks in Thailand. It is famous for its waterfalls, few trails, remote villages, viewpoints, sunrise/sunset watching, birdwatching and the all year round cold weather on higher elevations. The main park entrance is about 70 km southwest from Chiang Mai city center.
This time i want to hike to Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail. Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail itself is a Natural Study trek on Doi Inthanon National Park starts from Km. 42.
The trail sits at 2,200 meters above sea level, just a few hundred meters below Thailand’s highest peak (2,565 meters). Take note that Doi Inthanon National Park is opened all year but Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail is closed from June to October i.e. the raining season.

Capturing the Splendor of Wachirathan Waterfall in Chiang Mai
#waterfall
Nestled in the lush landscapes of Doi Inthanon National Park, Wachirathan Waterfall stands as one of Chiang Mai's most majestic natural wonders. This powerful waterfall is not only a sight to behold but also a popular spot for photography enthusiasts looking to capture the essence of Thailand's tropical beauty.
A Photographer's Dream
Wachirathan Waterfall cascades over steep cliffs into a misty pool below, creating a dynamic and visually stunning scene perfect for photography. The waterfall’s considerable height and volume result in a refreshing mist that cools the air and adds a mystical quality to the surrounding environment. Photographers will find ample opportunities to capture the dramatic force of nature, whether through wide shots that encompass the entire scene or close-ups that focus on the water’s intricate details.
Perfect Setting for Memorable Photos
The area around Wachirathan Waterfall is well-maintained with several vantage points and pathways that allow for different perspectives and compositions. The lush greenery, combined with the waterfall’s white froth, creates a vibrant contrast that enhances any photo. For those looking to include themselves in the frame, the site offers several spots where you can pose safely in front of the waterfall’s grand backdrop.
Visitor Tips
- Best Time to Visit: Early morning is the ideal time for photography at Wachirathan Waterfall. The softer light provides better illumination of the waterfall, and the cooler temperatures make for a more comfortable visit. Additionally, arriving early helps avoid the crowds that gather later in the day.
- Gear Recommendations: Due to the mist from the waterfall, it's wise to protect your camera equipment. Using a waterproof cover can help prevent any damage. Also, consider bringing a tripod for stable long-exposure shots that capture the flowing movement of the water.
- Safety First: Always stay on marked trails and viewing platforms. The rocks around the waterfall can be slippery, so wear sturdy, non-slip shoes, and remain cautious while setting up equipment or posing for photos.

Floral Splendor at Doi Inthanon Pagoda
#flowerblossom
Doi Inthanon, known as the "Roof of Thailand," offers more than just breathtaking views from its peak. The pagodas near the summit are surrounded by meticulously maintained gardens that come alive with vibrant flower blossoms, creating a spectacle of color and beauty that captivates all who visit.
Gardens of Ethereal Beauty
The gardens around the Doi Inthanon Pagodas, known for their tranquility and natural elegance, reach their peak beauty when the flowers are in full bloom. The area is home to a variety of flowers, including rhododendrons, which are native to the region, and a multitude of other species that paint the landscape in vivid hues of pink, red, purple, and yellow. The cooler climate of the high altitude supports a diverse range of flora not typically found in other parts of Thailand.
A Peaceful Retreat
Visiting these gardens offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. As you wander through the paths lined with blooming flowers, the only sounds are the gentle rustle of leaves and the soft murmur of wind. The setting is not only perfect for relaxation and reflection but also provides numerous opportunities for photography enthusiasts to capture the stunning scenery.
Cultural and Spiritual Significance
The pagodas themselves, dedicated to the King and Queen of Thailand, add a profound cultural and spiritual layer to the visit. The elegant architecture of the pagodas, combined with the surrounding floral beauty, offers a harmonious blend of nature and devotion. Visitors often take a moment to enjoy the quiet spiritual atmosphere, which is enhanced by the natural beauty that surrounds these sacred structures.
Visitor Tips
- Best Time to Visit: The best time to experience the flower blossoms is during the cooler months from November to February when the flowers are in full bloom and the weather is most pleasant.
- Prepare for the Climate: Even though Thailand is generally warm, the high altitude of Doi Inthanon can make it quite chilly, especially in the morning and evening. Dress in layers to adjust comfortably as you explore.
- Respect the Site: Remember to treat the gardens and the pagodas with respect. These are not only tourist attractions but also places of spiritual significance.

North Thailand’s Best Waterfall
Feel the full force of nature as you stand at the base of Wachirathan Waterfall.
Located inside Doi Inthanon National Park, this 80m high waterfall is the first stop when you enter the Park. Enjoy it as part of a tour or using your own scooter/car.
No opportunities for swimming here, but have some food/drink from the many kiosks nearby and appreciate what mere water and gravity can do for a while.
Entrance fee for the Park: 300THB for foreigners.

Unveiling Nature's Grandeur: Mae Ya Waterfall
My journey through Thailand led me to an unspoiled paradise: Mae Ya Waterfall, one of the largest and most breathtaking cascades in the country. The seasonal rains had amplified its vigor, sending crystal clear water thundering down hundreds of feet, a spectacular sight!
Ensconced in the lush Doi Inthanon National Park, Mae Ya asserts her presence with an orchestra of sounds, where the steady drumming of the water is met with the symphony of the verdant wilderness. A gentle trek through the rich forest canopy, peppered with exotic flora, heightened the anticipation of the dramatic spectacle that awaited.
Reaching the falls, I was awestruck by the sprawling curtain of water, cascading down an array of rock formations, dispersing into a myriad of droplets catching the sunlight, a stunning rainbow lurking in the fine mist. Mother Nature, indeed, had pulled out all the stops here. Mae Ya, you're a testament to the timeless beauty and power of the natural world.

Peak Pursuit: Scaling Thailand's Sky-High Summit
In the heart of Northern Thailand, I embarked on an exhilarating journey to conquer the country's highest peak, Doi Inthanon. Nestled within the breathtakingly beautiful Doi Inthanon National Park, this towering summit stands as a testament to Thailand's natural grandeur.
Doi Inthanon, fondly known as "The Roof of Thailand," stretches an impressive 2,565 meters above sea level. The mountain is part of the Thanon Thong Chai Range, an extension of the Himalayas, which spans several countries across Southeast Asia. The park that houses the peak is named after King Inthawichayanon, the last king of Chiang Mai, who was passionate about preserving the area's lush forests.
The trek to the top was a blend of challenge and charm, with the rugged trails meandering through lush forests, past cascading waterfalls, and offering panoramic views of the mist-shrouded valleys below. As I reached the summit, the sense of accomplishment was matched only by the awe-inspiring vista of the sun setting over the verdant expanse.

📍HFQP+6R Ban Luang, Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai, Thailand
Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand with an elevation of 2,565m, is called the roof of Thailand! I went trekking there! It takes about 2 and a half hours by car from Chiang Mai city. I recommend booking a trekking tour rather than going there on your own! Doi Inthanon National Park, which preserves the tropical rainforest of the Indochina Peninsula! The long forests and flowing streams feel refreshing! You can also visit the Hmong village, an ethnic minority in this area!

Doi Inthanon National Park
One of Thailand's best National parks and highest mountain, the temperature drops by 2 degrees in the morning. You'll be refreshed by the beauty of the place, the twin pagodas, the weather, and the flowers. We hire private transportation because our accommodation is in Chiangmai's city center. Doi Inthanon is nearly 2 hours by van from the city center. #amazingthailand #2023travelwish #mytripvlog

Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand.
We visited the Doi Inthanon National Park, and I truly loved the hike. The weather was amazingly cooling, and the view was lovely. Simply loved the greenery, the clouds, and the blue sky.
Totally enjoyed the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail a lot.
Shall return soon to experience the overnight camping in this national park.

Gorgeous National Park
Doi Inthanon National Park is a must see in Chiang Mai and Thailand as a whole. What I particularly liked where the King and Queen pagodas and the beautiful flowers all around.
The brown one is The Kings and the purple one is The Queens. Both decorated beautifully but differently. It's great to walk through them and try to spot the intricate differences between the two of them.
The chrysanthemums add colour and character and you can sit and enjoy the scenery.
Remember to check out Doi Suthep Temple in the nearby vicinity too

The Scenic Doi Inthanon National Park
Chang Mai is a small little city in Thailand where it is famous for many beautiful ancient temples located high above the mountains, also due to its mountainous regions you will be able to have many scenic walks and views among these mountainous landscapes with alot of natural wonders surrounding you.
One of the attraction for hiking or outdoor enthusiasts is the Doi Inthanon National Park where this is the highest mountain located in Thailand and of course the weather up there is cooling but not cold, this is also a very popular tourists attraction where you will see crazy crowds doing this hike during the peak seasons.
So basically, you can do all these within a day where there are also the Holy Relic Pagodas in Do Inthanon, alsp the Wa Chirathan Waterfall where you are able to get upclose and hear the roar of the waterfall, and of course not forgetting the summit of the mountain.

The best national park so far
this is one of the most famous national parks in Thailand I believe, which is located in the northern part of Thailand. it’s completely different from the rest of the country. countless waterfalls and rice terrace where you can enjoy the view and find inner peace! since we are exchange students in Thailand, we were able to get child ticket 150 bhat for our entrance. it takes few hours to just go to different waterfalls. and there is one grand pagoda that located uphill, which is very close to the highest point in Thailand. this national park is truly phenomenal, and I recommend everyone who visits Thailand to come here#tripblazers #bucketlistreboot #mytripvlog

Attractions - This waterfall is very beautiful and there is a nice big platform from where you can have a great view on the waterfall. there is a beautiful tree in the midland of the platform which you can see on the pictures
Hotels - there are many hotels, gomestays and guesthouses in the area
Food & Restaurants - There are great restaurants in the neighborhood
Shopping - there are a few shops in the area

very beautiful waterfall in national park
it is sad that this waterfall can only be seen from far away, yet, it’s still stunning and beautiful. this waterfall is on the way to grand pagoda if you are in Doi Inthanon national park! you can leave your car or scooter in the parking lot, and walk for 100 meter, you are able to reach the view point . apparently some part of this place are closed, you’re not really able to see the entire waterfalls, still the walk in the forest is really pleasant, and it’s really easy to access to the platform where you can see the waterfall. the water is strong, and you need to be a bit careful if you would love to walk around, it’s very slippery #tripblazers #bucketlistreboot #mytripvlog

breathtaking waterfall in the national park
i will say that this waterfall is the most stunning and breathtaking one I have seen so far in Thailand. this waterfalls is located inside of the famous national park, Doi Inthanon, you need to pay the entrance fee 300 bhat to get inside. this is our first stop in the national park since everyone has recommended this one to us! you can see how powerful this water stream is, which might caused by the heavy rain for the last few weeks! for me, this one is even better than the famous Erawan waterfalls! and there are few restaurants on site where you are able to grab a bite and have a drink if you’re hungry while visiting. it’s such a beautiful place!!#tripblazers #bucketlistreboot #mytripvlog

Cascading waterfall at Doi Inthanon
#bucketlistreboot
Wachirathan Waterfall is one of the biggest and most beautiful waterfall in Chiang Mai. Located within Doi Inthanon National Park, this lesser known waterfall caught our eye and we were mind blown by it. The weather was patchy when we visited and it rained pretty heavily so we could not spend much time here. However there are plenty of restaurants around where you can sip coffee and watch the raging waterfall. You can actually walk very close to the waterfall and take pictures. The trail could be slippery so make sure you are in comfortable friction shoes. This was our last stop during Doi Inthanon trip, what an ending to a beautiful day spent in nature!!!

Doi Inthanon national park in Chang Mai
Last Christmas we went to Doi Inthanon national
park in Chang Mai Thailand. The highest peak in thailand with nice scenery view of mountains with beautiful garden of flowers and trees, this temple built for the late King number 9 and Queen.
The second place that we went is the white temple in Chiang Rai Thailand, this temple is iconic in thailand and unique because of this whole white colored temple from the roof to the floor, they also have a blue temple just a couple of kilometers away.
The third that we visited was a resort in Hua Hin Cha-am thailand. We stayed in this nice big hotel far from the city with a good ambiance for relaxation with a good beach front view, we spend our new year in the hotel and that was a good experience.

One of the most memorable sunset experienced I had was in Doi Inthanon, Chiang Mai. It is because I just simply stare at it until it goes down when I was at the peak of the highest mountain in Thailand. It’s so relaxing and it feels like I’m levitating.

Most beautiful waterfall in Thailand
"Mae Ya Waterfall" is located in Doi Inthanon at Chiangmai Province. This waterfall is in the top list waterfall in Thailand. This one is huge and very beautiful and it is calso the largest waterfall in Doi Inthanon. This waterfall was the most beautiful waterfall in Thailand before someone had found "Tealawsu" waterfall in Tak.
You can take a swimsuit to play in this waterfall. Or you can go picnic with your friends, your family or your own. Inside this area, there might not have a telephone signal. Just enjoy nature. The weather was so good.
I recommend you to go nearly the winter time. If you go on rainy season, you have to be very careful because the water may be too much and blow you away.
