Yes, there probably some seller trying to set a higher price for tourist but it’s an experience that you’ll hardly experience again. If you are a person with good negotation skills, you can definitely try asking for some better price. I noticed that most of the stall busy selling traditional handicraft, light snacks, local foods but of course there were also many other options as well. Back to my own experience, apart of shopping from our boat, we were also able to step out of our boat and take a quick visit at this temple, Wat Charoen. You could check the maps on the whole market and discuss with the boat owner if you could stop on some spot for quick visit. Just keep in mind that the boat are rent by hour.

I booked a day trip to the floating market and the train market through trip.com. We booked for a private transfer to both markets. We were picked up from our hotel at 9am and taken to both. Our driver spoke good English and was also very kind and helpful. He made sure we were comfortable and shared a lot of information with us about both markets. The floating market was super busy (we arrived around 11:30). We were taken to the boats and driven along the canals until we reached the shopping area. If you want to stop and look at the stores, you need to speak up! The same goes for food and drinks. Otherwise you’ll float along without the chance to see much. 🤭 Note that most stores have similar items to sell and the price is higher, but it is on the water, and there are many tourists. You can use your bargaining skills to barter with the store owners. But if You prefer also can just walk around the market, all site are accessible by walking. If You rent a car is important to know that the drivers might try to bring You to some different area from this market and try to sell You another market activity saying that the market can not be acceded by walking. Overall for my first visit here, it was sad to see how quiet the pandemic has made this market due to a lack of stores open. However, it's also presented a great opportunity to explore without the crowds with an off the track experience available from visiting the old market where there's a more rustic and authentic experience with the community.

It took around 2 hours from Bangkok by bus. It has always been one of the experiences that I wanted to try if I ever visited Thailand. I'm sure you have heard of the floating market and like its name it means the market is floating on the water. So first, you begin your journey by taking an excited boat ride through various water canals before reaching the market. The market vendors are on the water or on a boat, and you can shop and experience the market as you ride the boat along the canals. Nevertheless the price of the food there is kinda pricy so beware if you decide to visit 😉. We went on this trip by booking from the tour we found in trips.com.
