I finally made it! I've been dreaming of visiting the charming Portuguese countryside town of Águeda for so long. I took a day trip from Porto's São Bento Station, enjoying a leisurely train ride via Aveiro. Looking up, the sky was completely covered in a colorful canopy—it was breathtakingly beautiful! I was blessed with perfect weather, making it the absolute best day for a stroll.☀️ 📍 An Endless Umbrella Sky Coloring the Blue Sky Colorful umbrellas, umbrellas, and more umbrellas as far as the eye can see! Red, blue, yellow, green, orange... the sight of these vibrant umbrellas floating against the blue sky is truly a masterpiece. Down on the cobblestone streets, the crisp shadows of the umbrella handles and zigzag patterns are cast perfectly, and just walking through it all filled me with endless excitement! The green pathway laid out beneath my feet only added to the adorable charm of the town. 📍 Vibrant Balloon Streets Swaying in the Breeze It’s not just umbrellas, either! On some streets, you'll find colorful balloons completely covering the sky. As the sunlight filters through, it casts colorful polka-dot shadows on the white building walls and the cobblestones below. This space felt like pure light magic, and it was so incredibly cute that you just have to capture it in a photo!🎈 📍 Idyllic Riverside Scenery and Lively Festival Vibes After a short walk to the riverside, I found a picture-perfect scene with a cute, light-blue building with an orange roof and white tents beautifully reflected on the water's surface. With the rows of tents, you can really feel the lively, festive atmosphere! Venturing just a little bit away from the center, I was greeted by a quiet, beautiful natural landscape where the blue sky and white clouds mirrored perfectly on the water. It was incredibly healing.🌿 Águeda is a perfect blend of a colorful, pop cityscape and idyllic nature. Everywhere you look is totally photogenic, and I left feeling completely refreshed from the bottom of my heart! A sunny day is definitely the best time to visit because the strong sunlight creates those crisp, stunning shadows, but don't forget your sunscreen and to stay hydrated. I've always wanted to go to the "Umbrella Sky Project" since I saw a photo of it online☂️ The umbrella festival is held every year from July to September in Agueda, Portugal. You can see this installation all over the world now, but this is probably the original🥰❤️ The umbrellas are different depending on the street and are cute! The transparent umbrellas also have nice shadows✨️ It's a wonderful feeling that no matter where you take a picture, it's a picture. The umbrellas reflected in the window are also beautiful🫶The paint on the stairs is stylish, and you can take photos that look like jacket photos📸 [How to get there🚗]┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈The umbrella festival in Portugal is quite difficult to access😨 It seems to be relatively easy to access from Porto, but we went from Lisbon so it took about 3 hours... Take the high-speed train from Santa Apolonia station to Aveiro. We change to a local line and head to Agueda. It's a two-car train. I'm a little worried, but we'll get there...! There were only two other passengers on the way there besides us. When I asked the station attendant at the station about the Agueda umbrella festival, he responded, "What's that?" And this is the unmanned ticket gate at Agueda station 😳 Very local...! It's about a 10-minute walk from here to the Umbrella Sky Project venue. There are no signs or maps, but if you walk down the main road with your back to the station, you'll eventually arrive. By the way, it's really rural. There are hardly any people. There is no place to buy tickets, so on the way back, you buy a ticket directly from the conductor on the train. It's a little difficult to get there, but I think it's worth seeing in person!
