The climb to Møysalen (1,262 m) is 8 km one-way, 1,100 m gain, but the better walk is the tundra loop via Nonstind (1,160 m): 12 km, 5–6 hrs, dwarf birch → heather → lichen tundra, with the Gullesfjord on one side and the Sortlandssundet on the other. I hit the Nonstind bench at 09:30, wind 10 m/s, a sea eagle riding the thermal over the fjord. The "cliff" is the east face of Møysalen itself—600 m drop into the birch belt, visible from the loop's north leg. No water on the tundra—carry 3 L. DNT self-service hut at Strandbu (250 NOK non-member) if you extend to 2 days. Mistake: I came mid-July expecting wildflowers and got midge hell on the birch section—headnet Jun–Aug, non-negotiable.
