So calming place

In the heart of West Sussex, where the pace slows down just enough for you to notice the little things, Haywards Heath feels like one of those quiet English towns that gently surprises you. 🌿 Surrounded by rolling countryside, golden fields, and tree-lined paths, it’s the kind of place where mornings begin with fresh air and evenings end with soft skies.
Just a short journey away lies the breathtaking landscape of the South Downs National Park, where endless walking trails, chalk hills, and panoramic viewpoints make every step feel like a postcard moment. Whether you’re chasing sunrise views or simply wandering without a plan, this stretch of England feels like pure calm stitched into nature.
A must-visit nearby is Wakehurst, the wild botanic garden that changes beautifully with every season. Not far off, Nymans Garden offers romantic ruins, blooming gardens, and storybook-like corners perfect for slow afternoons. And if you’re in the mood for lakeside reflections and heritage charm, Sheffield Park and Garden is just the place to wander and pause.
Haywards Heath itself is the perfect base—calm, connected, and quietly beautiful. It’s not about big attractions here, but about the experience between places: the train rides through countryside views, the café stops after a long walk, and the feeling of being close enough to everything while still wrapped in peace.
A little corner of West Sussex that reminds you—sometimes the best destinations aren’t loud, they’re softly unforgettable. 🌿

Experience the treasure hunt at Ardingly Antiques Fair
This was in 2019, but I finally got to go to an antique fair, something I'd always wanted to do.
There are many antique fairs held in the UK, and the whole town is filled with a treasure-hunting atmosphere♪
However, the Ardingly Antiques Fair is one of the largest in the UK.
I took the train to a station near the venue, then took a taxi from there.
The vast venue was lined with hundreds of stalls (in the UK, shops are called "stalls"),
packed with a wide variety of items, including furniture, pottery, vintage goods, jewelry, and paintings.
It was like a giant treasure hunt, and just walking around and browsing each item was exciting.
Another attraction was the opportunity to enjoy friendly conversation and bargain with the exhibitors.
The venue was lively, with a diverse gathering of locals and buyers from all over the world.
There were also several Japanese visitors.
Even if you're not an expert on antiques, it was a special time to enjoy the atmosphere.
It was an unforgettable memory of my trip, where I was able to fully experience the British atmosphere!
I want to go again!

Wakehurst – Kew’s Wild Countryside Retreat
Wakehurst, often called Kew’s country garden, is a sprawling estate in the Sussex countryside packed with beautiful gardens, woodlands, and meadows. It’s home to the Millennium Seed Bank, which protects plants from around the world, and miles of scenic trails for a peaceful wander. Families love the wild play area, where kids can climb, splash, and explore nature hands-on. Seasonal events bring the place to life, from blooming spring flowers to festive winter lights. Just an hour from London, Wakehurst offers a perfect mix of botanic beauty and outdoor adventure — a little slice of nature with plenty of space to roam.
