I used to think visiting Changbai Mountain meant constantly rushing between attractions, but I realized that a truly comfortable trip involves slowing down and just spending time at the hotel. With the vast forest and mountain views right outside the window, just sitting in the room and taking in the scenery felt completely worth it. We left the hotel at 8:00 AM the next morning for the West Slope and reached Heaven Lake around 10:30 AM. The weather was absolutely incredible! Changbaishan is one of China's premier ski destinations, offering world-class skiing experiences amidst breathtaking natural surroundings. During our recent trip to Changbaishan, we stayed at the Hyatt Regency, which offered an excellent base for our skiing adventure. It is one of the more affordable option with decent facilities and not far from the ski resort itself. Room was good, all ski resort tickets are included (except clothes rental) and they have big gym, too, that is bigger than The Westin’s. The only drawback is that you’d need to walk outside to go to the swimming pool which is located inside The Westin building, and that it is one of the father away hotel location from the Hannasan hotspring resort (Hyatt is the nearest). I couldn't see the hotel name (there were other hotels) I thought the staff went to the bathroom for a while, so I kept waiting but they didn't come I called the hotel and they told me to go to the parking lot and look for a bus... Only taxi drivers were honking and the buses had all left I called the hotel again and they told me to wait while they talked to the staff 15 minutes later they called and said the bus had already left so they would send another staff member... The scenery in Wenquan County is worth a two-day stay. 🍜 The Narin and milk tea at small local eateries are hearty. Of these places, Nanning and Xuzhou are the least physically demanding, Yantai and Yichun have the most palatable food, and Hulunbuir and Bortala have the most expansive scenery. When traveling with your parents, planning one spot a day is enough; use the rest of the time to just sit and relax.
