Barrie, a small city in Ontario, hides a tranquil natural haven beyond its beautiful lakeside scenery and relaxed atmosphere – Arboretum in Sunnidale Park. A leisurely stroll along the lake on a sunny weekend, with the reflections of trees in the water, is a photo opportunity that makes you want to take many pictures, and it deeply resonates with the healing power of nature. Here, you can enjoy the serenity away from the city and fully experience Barrie's outdoor charm. From the layered autumn foliage to the interplay between modern architecture and nature, it offers a double treat for both the eyes and the soul. Recommended Attractions Arboretum Sunnidale Park This botanical garden park is located at the intersection of Sunnidale Road and Cundles Road West (Barrie, Ontario). It's open year-round, all day, and admission is free, regardless of the season. Spring and summer bring a profusion of flowers, while autumn offers a breathtaking display of vibrant foliage. The lake reflecting the sunset is a sight to behold. It's perfect for family picnics and a paradise for photography enthusiasts and sketchers. The lakeside trails are flat and suitable for walks of all ages. Lakeside Scenery On a sunny day, you can see the silhouettes of modern buildings in the distance from the lakeside of Sunnidale Park. The lake is tranquil, reflecting the trees. On weekends, you might see picnics, joggers, and couples taking wedding photos. Personally, I feel the best time to visit is at dusk, when you can enjoy both the sunset and the lakeside scenery before nightfall. A walk around the lake takes about half an hour, allowing you to slow down or start your morning run. Natural Scenery within the Park Autumn is the highlight of Sunnidale Arboretum. The leaves change from green to yellow and orange, rustling in the breeze, making it hard to leave. The park is spacious, with many garden sculptures and small pavilions, perfect for resting and quiet contemplation. If you enjoy observing wildlife, bring your camera; you might have a chance to photograph squirrels and various birds. Practical Tips 1. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended, as the paths are mostly dirt or grass, suitable for outdoor activities. 2. Picnic tables and chairs are available in the park; it's recommended to bring your own food. The lakeside is perfect for relaxing and unwinding. 3. To avoid crowds, early morning and late afternoon are the quietest times, ideal for personal meditation or yoga. 4. Paths around the lake can be slippery in rainy weather; please be careful. 5. The park is conveniently located near Barrie city center and easily accessible by car or bus. Food Recommendations: There are many local cafes and sandwich shops near Sunnidale Road outside the park. We recommend trying the small cakes from Barrie's local bakery; you can pick them up on your way home, and enjoying them with a coffee by the lake is truly delightful. Barrie is a city about an hour's drive from Toronto. It's not a particularly touristy place, but the city itself is compact and perfect for relaxing! There are buses running through the city, so even though Canada is a car-oriented country, it's easy to get around without a car! A day off where you can take a photo with the Barrie sign, walk around the waterfront area, drink a beer, walk a little further, and eat ice cream that seems to be famous in this area. It's peaceful and nice! Speaking of poutine and Canada, Tim Hortons is a chain, but it's still a must-have when you come to Canada! These two are a must in Canada 🇨🇦 #Let's go abroad #Canada #Barrie

✨Hotel Highlights ♨️Amenities 🛁Room Environment 🍽️Breakfast 🛎️Hotel Service 💗Guest Experience I wouldn't give them five stars but I would give them close to 4 as everything was pretty good. So the staff are friendly, and the breakfast is good and hot and there's a variety to choose from. There's a pool on the bottom floor for your personal enjoyment and people who also stay there at this hotel are very nice. The reason why I'm taking one star is for the cleanliness of the rooms don't get me wrong the rooms are massive and quite nice for the price that is paid, but the staff could do a little better job cleaning. Every time I'm there the staff, they're always so attentive and always checking to see if I need anything. The water/ lake is close by with lots of things to do. You're close all amenities. This place i feel would be better if they stopped letting they're prices drop so low. other than this I really have no complaints. and if you can deal with it not being a five-star hotel than you're actually going to like your stay here I've returned several times. try it out!!#price #attentive staff #location #area #tourist #hotel #complimentary breakfast #waffles
