From the outside, the restaurant may appear simple, but once you step inside, the ambiance is delightful. The decor is stylish and charming, featuring a sofa area adorned with photos of Italian celebrities and notable figures, as well as a dining area with a quirky pickup truck centerpiece. The ceiling is decorated with chandeliers, and the dim lighting creates a cozy and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a delicious meal. ➡️ Bread & Soup Complimentary bread and soup are served before the meal. On the day of the visit, the pumpkin soup was exceptionally flavorful. The bread selection included fragrant herb focaccia and crispy breadsticks, perfect for dipping in olive oil with a sprinkle of salt—absolutely delightful. ➡️ Gamberoni all'Italiana, tagliatelle fatte in casa The star of this dish was the large, succulent prawns. The sauce, made with olive oil, garlic, and tomatoes, was tossed with perfectly chewy homemade tagliatelle. A truly satisfying dish. ➡️ Spaghetti alle vongole The spaghetti was cooked to al dente perfection and sautéed with olive oil, garlic, parsley, and tender clams. The flavor was quite enjoyable. ➡️ Tiramisu The tiramisu featured moist ladyfingers layered with creamy mascarpone, delivering an authentic Italian taste. This dessert was excellently prepared. The meal concluded with a cup of robust Italian-style coffee, paired with biscotti for a perfect finish.

Day one to Llamacorral passes Ichiccocha and Hatuncocha—turquoise, glacier-fed, 3,750 m. Day two to Taullipampa (4,250 m) adds the Alpamayo side trail to Arhuaycocha; the "knife-edge" profile of Alpamayo (5,947 m) is the money shot, best lit 15:00–16:00. Day three over Punta Unión is the lung-test: 500 m gain in 2 hrs, then 1,150 m drop to Huaripampa. Nights hit -5°C in June; my -10°C bag was right. Mistake: I carried 4 L from Cashapampa and ran out at Taullipampa—treat stream water with a filter, don't haul it all. The back of the cafe features a shady garden with outdoor seating, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The food here is authentic Belgian cuisine. We chose these two: ➡️ Mosselen (witte wijn / look / provencaal / roomlook) Mussels baked in white wine and garlic, served in a large pot, paired with freshly fried French fries. This dish is a perfect match. This dish is only available during mussel season. ➡️ Brochette Kip met Salad Grilled Chicken Skewers: Large chunks of lean chicken skewered and grilled. The portions are generous, with tender, juicy meat and a good flavor. For a side dish, we chose Kroketten, which are mashed potato cubes fried until the skin is crispy. The food here is outstanding in grilling, both steaks and pizzas, with a special charcoal oven for baking large pizzas in the kitchen behind the shop. But there are also other international dishes such as pasta, nachos, salads and Pad Thai as well. For this meal, we ordered the following: ➡️ Bread (served free before the meal) Here, they serve pizza dough as bread, with good quality pickled olives. The texture of the pizza bread is very good. It is also served warm, like it was freshly baked in a wood-fired oven. When you try it, you will know that the pizza here must be amazing. ➡️ Tonijn Steak This is a tuna steak that serves a very large piece of tuna, grilled to perfection, cooked thoroughly but the meat is juicy and not dry or tough. #WinterTravel Sint-brigidakerk or St. Brigid's Church is the church of Koersel. This town is a small and quiet town, but during Christmas, there is a Christmas market held in front of the church. It is held for only 3 days during the weekend before Christmas. It is a real Christmas market atmosphere for locals, which is a different experience from big cities or famous tourist cities. So, let's stop by and take a look. The Christmas market here has various shops set up in tents, a Santa's cottage, and the surrounding area is decorated with Christmas trees and bright lights. There are rides for children such as a carousel, target shooting, game machines, etc. There is a stage for concerts. As for products, there are various ornaments and food such as cheese, chocolate, pizza, whole roast pork skewers, French fries, churros, various drinks, and smoutebol, or round dough balls fried until crispy on the outside and soft on the inside sprinkled with icing sugar. We ordered the following dishes: ➡️ Yakitori Grilled Chicken Skewers - The chicken is soft and grilled to a nice aroma. It's quite good. ➡️ Chicken Gyoza - Served with a thick, sweet and salty sauce, the same as yakitori sauce. There is no proper gyoza dipping sauce. ➡️ Spicy California Roll - Sushi roll with crab sticks, cucumber, omelet, wrapped in avocado, topped with spicy mayo. I didn't feel any spiciness when I tried it, but the overall taste was okay, just like a normal California Roll. ➡️ Kamikaze Scampi - Roll with fried shrimp, avocado, and spicy mayo, which is not spicy at all. ➡️ Hot Green Tea - I ordered green tea, but I got Lipton green tea with apricot flavor, which was sour, so it felt a bit strange. The service is in Western style. They serve free rice crackers while you wait for your food. They also serve tea and biscuits. Overall, it's pretty good. You can tell from the fact that the restaurant is full from early in the day (we went around 6pm, which is quite early for dinner). Most importantly, it is conveniently located on the roadside with buses passing through. Even if you are not staying in the city, you can easily stop by if you take the bus that passes this stop. 🏠 Location / Atmosphere The restaurant is located on Paalsesteenweg Road, on the corner of Highway E313. In front of the restaurant is the Paal Veldstraat bus stop. It is a short walk away. If you rent a car, you can park in the restaurant's parking lot. It is spacious and convenient. As for the atmosphere, I must say that I really like it. The restaurant is a large building that can accommodate up to 250 people. There is outdoor seating at the back, and the surrounding area is decorated as a shady garden. Inside the building, there are 2 floors of seating. It is a high-ceilinged room decorated in a rustic style with exposed brick walls and wooden furniture, and is complemented by chic lamps. And a fancy bar converted from an old apothecary's cabinet. It gives off a very warm and cozy atmosphere. 🍽 Menu I tried ➡️ Complimentary Bread It's a bread with grains. The outer skin is quite hard and very thick, but the inside is soft and chewy. It's fun to chew. I like it. ➡️ Amuse Bouche It's pickled herring cut into tiny pieces, seasoned with a light, sour, sweet cream sauce and sliced ​​shallots. The taste is refreshing and fun to eat. ➡️ Duo van kaas - en garnaalkroket This dish is a shrimp croquette and a cheese croquette, served together, one piece each. The shrimp croquette filling is a thick, liquid cream with a distinct shrimp scent. It's fried until the outer skin is crispy and looks delicious. Sprinkle a pile of tiny shrimps on top. Therefore, the room price compared to the newness and facilities in the hotel is considered to be very good value for money. It is suitable as a stopover point. The hotel is only about 200 meters from the nearest bus stop. The surrounding roads are flat and in good condition, so it is not difficult to drag your luggage. I heard that the area where the hotel is located is near the army area, which should be an area for soldiers to relax and exercise. There is a horse racetrack for horseback riding training, etc. Therefore, the view outside the window still has a lot of trees and grass to see. Looking far away, you can see horses running in the field. The hotel is a modern building in the style of a general Business Hotel. The lobby has a high ceiling that looks grand. The restaurant is divided into 2 sides of the building. The surrounding walls are all glass, giving a clear view of the surrounding area. In addition to breakfast, they also serve lunch and dinner. What's great is that there are unlimited drinking water, tea, and coffee available for free on the sofa in front of the lobby 24 hours a day. The wifi is also strong. You can order just one menu and go back home full without ordering anything else. If you plan to have a light snack before the main course, you should find a group of 10 people to help you eat it.
