Geraldton|Discover a Hidden Beach for Watching the Sunset
📍St. George’s Beach, Geraldton
Friends! Found a hidden gem for sunset views in Geraldton! St. George’s Beach feels like a local secret spot, with few people and beautiful scenery. Every shot looks like a masterpiece📸
·
💫 Stunning Shallow Water Reflections: This is the only beach in Geraldton where a natural mirror forms after the tide goes out! When the sun sets, the water reflects the entire sky, and the deep blue sea seems to be dressed in a golden coat.
💫 270° Unobstructed Panoramic View: The wide coastline gives you the most complete sunset perspective! Watching the sun slowly sink below the horizon, the sky shifting from golden to pink and purple, that moment is truly breathtaking!
💫 Peaceful and Private Experience: No crowds, just the sound of the waves. Perfect for couples on a date, photography, or quiet reflection alone~
·
💡 Super Practical Tips:
🕓 Best Time: Check the tide and sunset times in advance. The best time is one hour before low tide, and it’s recommended to arrive 30 minutes before sunset.
👗 What to Wear: It felt very cold and windy in October, so a windbreaker is necessary.
🍴 Restaurants and Accommodation: There’s a local favorite sunset restaurant called “The Broady” right next to the beach, where you can enjoy dinner while watching the sunset—super cozy! It’s only a 1-minute walk from our accommodation, “Nesuto Geraldton Apartment Hotel.”

Epic Sunset & Star Chasing at St George’s Beach, Geraldton 🌅✨
Just had the most unreal evening at the Horizon Ball on St George’s Beach in Geraldton! 🚗 We started our journey back from Z Bend Lookout— FYI, it takes about 2 hours to get from there to Geraldton, so plan your timing if you wanna catch those sunset vibes.
The horizon was lit 🔥 and honestly, the sunset looked so magical it felt totally unreal. Clear skies, not a single cloud messing with our view—the sunset was absolutely insane! We took a chill stroll along the beach soaking it all in. There are loads of seats right by the Horizon Ball sculpture (St George’s Beach, Chapman Rd, Geraldton WA 6530—beach access 24/7), so you can sit back and vibe without any stress.
Snacks? Oh yeah. TimTams and leftover sausages—such a classic move for an Aussie sunset. We munched away and seriously just appreciated every second while the sky exploded with color.
Back at our Airbnb, the real magic started. Geraldton town is famous for having way less light pollution ✨ so stargazing is next-level. We looked up and—wow—so many stars right outside our door! If you’re up for it, bundle up because Geraldton nights get chilly and windy, which cut our stargazing session a bit short. But still, seeing that star-packed sky was totally worth it!
Pro tips:
– Sunset at Horizon Ball: Aim to arrive before 6:00pm for the best colors (times can shift through the year!)
– Address: St George’s Beach, Chapman Rd, Geraldton WA 6530
– Easy parking nearby
– Stargazing: Just step outside after dark for endless stars!
This spot is a must for sunset chasers and astro nerds. 10/10 recommend!
